Annual renewal at Jomtien - new difficulties for me this year

Featured Replies

I know God had a Parkinson’s and his girlfriend took the passport the day before immigration explained the problem and they told her just to bring them back just to take the photo and literally speaking he was getting out of there in less than a minute just did in front to get the photo and that was it then they gave back the passport TIT

  • My friend ( now deceased) used an agent for his retirement extension he did not have to leave his chair at home..the agent came to him took photos and did everything else for him.

  • If you are on a retirement extension please turn over the form and read: 1. ผู้ขอจะต้องยื่นคาขออนุญาตด้วยตนเอง APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT THE APPLICATION IN PERSON เว้นแต่ ผู้ป่วยหรือผู้พิการที่ไม่สามารถม

  • Are you on retirement or marriage extension ? an 'agent' might be able to smooth things over for you for a fee of course.

Folk that obtain these extensions use agent for 90 reports.

Unlikely the OP would require a COR for example TDL etc.

The OP describes very difficult situation.

Also these things don't improve.

Having an agent handle it all will be necessary for some.

Sadly Thai immigration does not have adequate alternatives to attending immigration in person.

By way of example... I'm typing this 4 weeks into recovery from fractured vertebrae.

I'm aware of medical extensions however some situations are long term.

Suggest the OP bite the bullet and use agent to handle the lot.

Without attending immigration.

Just a thought, but , given his mobility issues, has he considered a wheelchair- even for just such occasions?

At least (most?) Immigration offices have ramps for access.

If he's not with a Thai partner, then am sure there are plenty of willing helpers out there 😋.

Hope you have a good recovery from your spinal injury.

My daughter "compressed" her T4 vertebrae falling off a bicycle aged 10. (bloody dog ran under the front wheel...and no helmets back then!)

Left her as an "incomplete para"

Hasn't stopped her in the past 35 years being a corporate manager, marriage and global travel.

So I think the OP needs to seriously consider this, plus handing over his passport....not really a daily 'need to have' item these days given age and health issues.

All the best.

First up very admire your courageous daughter.

The wheelchair suggestion might be possible at some immigration offices.

One post in thread stated io came out and took picture.

That won't happen at somewhere such as CW.

Point is mobility and other health issues in the main are progressive.

For me it will equate to agent.

I can easily meet the financial requirements especially since I use income method.

In reality I most likely will use agent that can obtain extension upcountry rather than Bangkok and I have no need to attend immigration

I live in Chanthaburi but they handle my renewal completely by mail

Do they deal with your local immigration office in Chanthaburi, though? Or do you have to pretend to live at a Pattaya address around extension of stay time, presumably through a "temporary" TM30 (which, I take it, they'd fix for you as well?

But I'll definitely consider them when I next need to renew my British passport.

I believe they deal with Chanthaburi immigration. They're like sausage - I don't want to know what's in it, I just know I like it.

Thanks - that may be good to know.
