Apart by The Cure is definitely one of the saddest songs I listen to. It appears to be about a deep, and incredibly meaningful love affair that has fallen apart and wasted away, and the lingering aftermath. Robert Smith is a master songwriter, his voice is completely unique, and it can be a devastating matchup to a beautifully written and very sad song.

It doesn't matter how many times I hear this song, it's absolutely timeless, and it's utterly devastating. And gorgeous in its level of somberness.

Another Classic love song about a guy trying to make his life better but stopped everytime he try's. Elton John has said listening to this song when he was suicidal made him think he can turn the corner and get his life back on Track.

Even turned my Thai girlfriend here onto his music, which she enjoyed. Such a loss, as was another favorite of mine, Neal Casal, who took his own life a few years back. Excellent artist with many albums and collaborations with many others. Rafferty is always one artist I'll have cd's from on a road trip.
