Really, so on your couch you get temperatures of between 85 and 100 °C with low humidity?

Nope and why is that important?

I walk out of my house and I'm already in the sauna, why would I deliberately go to a place that's even hotter than that?

You can buy one of these liquid-cooled chillers. Just cool down a large insulated room to minus 50-degrees C. And then create a large sauna enclosure next to it. You can go from cold to hot to cold,

Maybe try to read the numerous links that have been posted, instead of ignoring them, because that floats your boat

You keep stating things with nothing to back them up. You state it is relaxing and increases blood flow. So does wiggling your toes while meditating.

Losers response :) Calling others names that disagree with your beliefs.

Next time in the sauna, take a look at the others in there. DO that over a month or two. What you notice is the unhealthy ones are still unhealthy and the healthy one are still healthy. Then put on your critical thinking cap on and contemplate :) Or just get angry and call me another name ")

If there were no health benefits, which have been documented throughout this thread, then I doubt the practice would continue for 7000 years or more, and be practiced now in about every country in the world.

A sauna is a bit more than an ice bath. It's about using extreme heat with low humidity, before cooling of very quickly in an ice bath.

Health benefits:

  • Finnish sauna: the high temperature and low humidity stimulate deep sweating which helps relax muscles, improves blood circulation, stimulates the immune system and induces mental relaxation.

How come the Fins don't live long lives then?

Why you resort to trolling again under your new username?

Finland has a life expectancy of 82 years, with is well in line with the rest of the world.

So saunas don't have any real health benefits. They do very little and are just a scam you do realise that?

Nobody said that sauna extends your life, Susan/Harrisfan, so stop trolling.

Everyone knows that good diet and exercise is more beneficial than saunas except these sauna trolls.

So you sit in saunas 3 times a week and your life is better?

15 minutes of swimming or weight lifting has more health benefits than saunas.

Saunas would not rank in the top 10 things for good health. If you bothered to research things instead of calling people for correcting your bs trolls you would know this.

I'm glad not everyone likes the sauna or the steam room. More comfortable without too many people,

I tried both, seemed like a waste of time. Heat exposure ranks 13th and cold exposure ranks 14th. The top four in order are resistance training, cardio, sleep and nutrient dense foods.

Paying money to sit in a hot box with limited benefit is a nice scam the hipsters are running.

I pay for gym membership, whether I use the sauna or not price is same. I don't really think folks sit in the sauna because they feel it's healthy, but it is relaxing.

Sitting on the top seat with your head up is actually painful it is so hot. Steam rooms are bad for your lungs too. Standing in a pool after gym is more relaxing.

  • Improved Circulation & Heart Health: Moist heat causes blood vessels to dilate, which can reduce blood pressure and enhance cardiovascular health.

  • Workout Recovery: Heat increases blood flow to muscles, reducing muscle soreness (DOMS) and stiffness after exercise.

  • Respiratory Relief

    :

The steam helps loosen mucus and relieve sinus congestion.

  • Skin Health: High humidity hydrates the skin and helps open pores, enhancing skin texture.

  • Stress Reduction: Steam rooms promote relaxation, which can lower cortisol levels.

Or death

  • In Finland, which has over 3 million saunas, there are typically between 60 and 100 deaths per year in a sauna environment.

Certainly better than sitting in your basement hammering away at your keyboard typing insult after insult day after day!

That is why I do it. If I did it 4 times a week for 6 months and then stopped for six months, the before and after would be identical. Sitting in a small room with mostly a bunch of scantly clothed sweaty people that would look much better with less skin showing is not high on my everyday list.

Stayed at my GF's condo for a month and a few very healthy Russians used it everyday after their 1 hour+ swims. They used it, I assume, to wind down and they had an abundance of time to kill like most of do in Thailand. It probably has some minor health benefits but "huge" as stated in the OP????

Never been in a basement. I bet you never do any exercise. If you did you would name it. I would hate to be really unfit like you. A keyboard is your only form of exercise. Only a real loser would talk about basements on a health topic.

Minor benefits after lifting weights. Thailand is hot so really limited. Far more useful in Finland. In Bangkok you can lift weights in parks for 0 to 30 baht and walk around in a loop.

Says the biggest/worst keyboard warrior ever on TV/AN including all it's present and previous usernames!

I assume you are aiming to break your previous negative record(s) and get to 200 negative points before you get to 200 posts!

If so you are going about it in your usual asinine way!

When was the last time you did serious exercise and what type was it? You sound like a real no hoper.

6 months of resistance work lasts 6 months after stopping. Sauna impacts would last a few days at most.

Do you have life outside the internet? I bet you don't. You can't name 1 exercise you do. Trolling a forum full of old men for years. Can't name 1 thing on topic.
