Finkelstein thinks Trump is too humiliated to attack Iran again

Featured Replies

Norman Finkelstein unpacks the aftermath of the US–Iran war, beginning with the ceasefire and what it actually reveals about both sides. He argues there was no clear victory, before tracing the deeper roots of US strategy toward Iran over decades.

The conversation explores Donald Trump’s highly personalised decision-making, the role Israel played in tipping the balance, and why expectations of regime collapse inside Iran failed.

Finkelstein also examines the broader consequences: the collapse of legal norms around war, the destruction unfolding in Lebanon, and Iran’s justification for its response under international law.

I guess when the Four Horsemen of the Trumpocalypse mount up, it's pretty much over for Trump.

So badly has Trump lost previously diehard MAGAs like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, Megyn Kelly and Alex Jones, that their criticisms forced Trump into a 485-word Tweet calling each of them all of his go-to epithets, like Low IQ and Losers.

The Daily Beast---acceptable source?---wrote that Trump ignored the advice given to him by the intel community, where he was advised not only would Iran close the Straits of Hormuz, but also strike out at GCC allies---both of which happened.

Apparently Trump relied on his own "gut feel" and thought Iran would cave after a day or so of bombing, and/or the people would rise up and take control of the nation. As big as his gut is, the "feel" doesn't seem to be so great. Given his diet, it's unlikely his guy ever feels good.

I think Trump is on the way out. Why do I say this?

How many times have you seen Vance in media a month back vs now? He disappeared only to reappear with positive coverage just when this war took turn for the worse.

He has been portrayed as stable, on point, good speaker who can focus on message and not drift off after 10 seconds.

Then Melania brought Epstein up behind his back, stating things which weren't happening must stop immediately.

I believe this is preparation of population for change in power, and it's very near.

Likely the plan is (was?) for him not to get "retired" until next year.

If he goes in the first half of his term Vance can only run one more time for president after he takes over from Trump.

Vance takes over in the second half of this term and he gets to run twice again.

But Trumps mental state is deteriorating so fast that events may rush forward.....and who can say for certain what the capos have planned among themselves or against each other?
