Orban´s defeat is a win for Europe, and also a clear setback for Trump, Vance, and Putin. It comes after a long period of threats toward Europe, repeated insults, and open hostility wherever they turned their attention. Instead of breaking Europe, they have helped push Europe — and especially the Nordic countries — into closer unity than before. So in that sense, thank you, Vance and Trump. Orbán was voted out after 16 years in power.

Reuters reported the result as a major blow to both Russia’s position and Orbán’s allies in the Trump camp.

It is a good day for Europeans to open a bottle and raise a glass.

Another great victory for Putin, Trump and the fascists. Seems the people of Hungary have more intelligence than average American voters, who elected Trump, twice.

This is a sad day for Hungary and Europe. More socialism is not the answer, it never works. Hungary will have to learn the hard way.

Magyar is quite right wing. Hardly a socialist.

He is liberal. And more aligned with the socialist lunatics in Brussels.

He is looking more to Europe more than the genocidal dictator in Moscow.

That's what the Hungarian people want now.

But you don't know anything about his actual positions if you call him a liberal. Not even close. Waste of time engaging with someone so totally misinformed.

The Hungarian people will get a very rude awakening. Europe is a basket case and failed ideology. No wonder there is so much propaganda that comes out of the continent.

Time will tell, but it is a sad, very sad time for the world with leaders like these dominating the global picture. Blindly believing the narrative coming from either Washington or the Kremlin serves none of us. You can hide your motives behind the idea that everyone who goes against Washington is a socialist, but that only mirrors Trump’s rhetoric.

Absolutely, good point. The truth is very hard to come by, wherever you reside, we live in an age of smoke and mirrors. The masses are being lied too, it would seem a new iron curtain has been pulled down.

That is why the truth is often coated, rationed, and staged. Not always because every leader is evil, but because power itself tends to prefer stability over honesty. Full truth is messy. It forces responsibility, raises uncomfortable questions, and can break convenient stories. Most systems, whether political, religious, corporate, or ideological, survive more by controlling the narrative than by revealing everything openly.

Danger is one of the strongest tools in that process. When something is painted in large enough letters, with enough fear, urgency, and moral pressure, people stop examining it calmly and start reacting instead. And once people react emotionally, they become easier to guide, easier to divide, and easier to keep inside the frame that has been built for them.

Unfortunately, that also creates distrust and conspiracy thinking, especially when the media or large institutions no longer seem willing to serve the broader good. And sometimes the bigger the lie, the more easily it is trusted, while the real truth struggles to get the same hold.

Most grounded and settled people understand this and try to keep some balance and calm between the larger headlines and events. But those who are anxious, angry, hateful, or already unstable often find it much harder. They are the ones most easily pulled in, and in many cases they are the ones most harmed by it.

Especially in periods of hardship and economic stress, this dynamic grows stronger. And another truth is that it often pushes societies toward larger conflicts, or at least toward the creation of a larger enemy, because an external threat is one of the easiest ways to keep people focused, obedient, and less likely to question what is happening at home.

Tisza is a broad coalition which was essentially formed to oust Orban. If Magyar is true to his word, the Hungarian people can look forward to a reduction in corruption and nepotism, and greater freedom of the press and expression.

Due to the broad make-up of Tisza, it may be more difficult for Magyar to achieve consensus when it comes to other potential (domestic) initiatives.

In so far as Europe (the EU) has an ideology, it can be seen in its' 'Aims and Values'. Imo trying to meet these goals should be viewed as a positive thing, rather than a failure.

The amount of propaganda originating in Brussels pales into insignificance when compared with that emanating from the White House.

Just a bit surprised so many here have brainlessly swallowed EU propaganda. We're going back a few years but holidaying in France and Spain when they had francs and pesetas was like holidaying in the 3rd world as everything was so cheap. Enter the dreaded Euro and everything doubled in price immediately.

Hungarians that walked safe streets under Orban are in for a VERY rude awakening after they surrender to the globalist dictators of brussels.
