The end of Pepsi as we knew it!

Featured Replies

Rarely and now and then, a good frozen Pepsi was a treat. But any of these sodas are lethal for the sugar count and a one-way no return ticket to get diabetes. Face it people. After a certain age, it's a russian roulette not to change one's diet habbits.

I always found it interesting that most people who liked Pepsi could drink Coke and enjoy it if that's all that was available. On the other hand, Coke drinkers would rather drink room temperature hors

Old tummy a bit dodgy now, pain after eating, no pain after drinking.

Thinking I'll be having to turn to old people shakes.

"Ensure" is quite expensive if bought at the pharmacy but is often available on promotion at local hospitals for around half price

Is it not possible to recreate the taste of "authentic" pepsi simply by adding additional sugar to the newer low sugar variety?

If you care to take off your blinkers there are alternatives to lays.

Tasto goes great, love the the chilli emperor flavour.

Never seen them at my local supermarkts.

Since the ban on products and produce imported from Thailand, I can now choose from many different brands of sugar free drinks at my local supermarket in Siem Reap, including Dr. Pepper Zero, Irn-Bru Zero, Vimto Zero, Seven-Up Zero and the Munster zero sugar range. The sugar versions of these are also available. A great choice so please keep those borders closed.

Most probably don't know , but the Mexican coke sold in Texas was the shizzle

think was pure cane sugar in place of high fructose

A true internet classic

Love Coke Cola, to me Pepsi tastes like a can of coke thats been open for 4 days.

I need 2l of full sugar Pepsi a day to keep my weight up.

I've already dropped from 72.5kg to 71.4kg in my first week without it.

Have a friend from Australia that comes to visit a few times a year, he brings me a large bottle of Bundy OP each time.

Goes good !

If you like the taste of gasoline

Classic Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Pepsi, Pepsi Max, Diet Pepsi, the local Thai Est, Diet Est and the various supermarket brands of cola all taste the same to me, love them all. Guess I don’t have a very discriminating sense of taste, makes life a bit easier. Also saves me lots of money not having to pay the extortionate price charged for Coke and Pepsi in Australia.

I'm always quite astonished when I see somebody ordering a Coke or a Pepsi or any soft drink for that matter. When we were children we really didn't know any better, but as adults drinking a beverage that has nine spoons of sugar just is not smart and very hard on the body it's kind of like inviting Diabetes.

A standard 20 oz (591 mL) bottle of Coca-Cola contains 65 grams of sugar, which is equivalent to approximately 16.25 teaspoons. This amount provides roughly 240 calories and represents more than 100% of the recommended daily intake of added sugar.

Should have skipped the vaccinations, then you wouldn't be risking diabetes.

I created the topic!

Why should I be restricted in my choices because your body is weak?

Go back and live in your nanny state.

Agree with you ...the home town of Bunderburg is a classic rough n ready Queensland city, not quite outback, on the coast just nth of Brisbane. 👍

It's gone, the Pepsi we knew and loved has gone.

We've drunk it all our lives and now it's gone forever.

Full sugar original Pepsi (blue top)

Now replaced by low sugar Pepsi (white top) and diet Pepsi (black top).

Obviously neither of which taste anything like as good as the traditional Pepsi.

my white top 1.45l Pepsi bought yesterday at lotus is labelled no sugar

A relative drank a bottle of Bundy a day. I won't say how it turned out but the message is don't drink a bottle of Bundy per day.

In my younger days bourbon & coke was my go to, I tried it with pepsi instead of coke and it was not good. These days I no longer drink alcohol but do drink pepsi sugar free every so often, I actually think it tastes better than coke sugar free

It is fine for those who exercise.

I actually prefer Est Cola to either Coke or Pepsi... I don't drink much of the stuff, so I can't say if Est has changed their formula.

For those of you wondering (as I did):

"Bundy" is a colloquial term for Bundaberg Rum, a popular Australian dark rum produced in Bundaberg, Queensland, since 1888.

If the only thing missing is the sugar content, why not put a spoon or two extra sugar into the glass or bottle? You are a big boy, you can do it. On holidays, use Mentos, it will be fun.

Thailand is 25g per 200ml serving, that would be 73.8g for your US 20 oz serving.

The tastes very slightly from country to country. In Thailand I prefer Pepsi.

To your comment about sugar content I was told the white topped Pepsi indicated it was a recycled bottle, not a reduced amount of sugar. Certainly from the taste I do not detect reduced sugar.
