    Nope, love living here.

I’m more curious where you live that’s so flawless. A utopia, is it? No drunks, no dodgy headlines, no locals behaving badly… just everyone sipping herbal tea and filing their taxes early?

Why do you have such a compulsion to post dispiriting content on this forum. That’s the question you should be asking.

Is it a coincidence that both Rocky and Isme were up at 5 this morning?

Are they off site pals? Tag team or what?

Never met the guy. He sounds unstable.

43 pages so far, with I'm guessing maybe15 to 20 actually about the thread, Pattaya. The rest about anything but--from pizza to ice cream to fitness to America to other places not Pattaya to many other topics I've forgotten to lots and lots and lots and lots of very boring personal attacks on other members posting. Normally, I like it when a thread goes off-topic but this one--not so much.

Meanwhile, to the poster who asked if he should rethink moving to Pattaya, my answer is no, I think you'll like it. Read any of my posts on Pattaya as to why.

No, and give it a try, just don't 'buy' in till you live there a few 'seasons / years'. Not a fan myself, as don't need western 'comforts', and the congestion is too much for me.

But as a surfside city, it checks most boxes, and the area is large enough to be 'out of town' if wanting, and still be close to surfside views, vendors & shopping.

As much as we visited and love where we live, not Pattaya, we rented for 2 years before building, as playing holiday and everyday life anywhere is different. So rent for 2 years before setting down any roots, if that's your desire. If I retired at 65 instead of 45, I wouldn't buy in anywhere, and probably just hop around to different provinces every couple years.

Actually, I wouldn't even be in TH, but that's a personal choice. Too settled in and too lazy to change now.

And me ........

I'd be in Cambodia (easy visa), Philippines (no visa) or Vietnam (marry a local visa).

Spend 2 weeks in 25 different cities. Then you will know the best ones and see more of Thailand than most Thais or farangs. It will be the best year of your life.

I was staying in Thailand on a multi non O, forced me into holidays all over Asia 4x a year.

Went everywhere just choosing on cheap flights (normally 2,500bht return or less), it was amazing!

Me ... the Americas

No regrets being here, but if hindsight, I would have simply stayed based in USA. Really no reason to have left, and the grass isn't greener.

No way I'm leaving my daughter, or putting my wife through such a major change, as I ain't going to be around long enough to justify that. The thought of moving again, doesn't interest me at all.

Besides, I really enjoy where we live and my life now. If only TH had a change of seasons ... Super Bliss

I see why you use AI and google so often. When you try to post on your own you flop.

From Google AI.

Thailand officially has three distinct seasons: the hot season, the rainy (monsoon) season, and the cool season. Generally, the hot season runs from March to May, the rainy season from May/June to October, and the cool season from November to February. [1, 2, 3, 4]

  • Hot Season (March – May): Characterized by high temperatures, often exceeding \(35^{\circ}C\) (\(95^{\circ}F\)), particularly in April.

  • Rainy Season (May/June – October): Dominated by the southwest monsoon, bringing heavy rain, high humidity, and the highest rainfall amounts.

  • Cool Season (November – February): Considered the best time to visit, featuring lower temperatures, less humidity, and more pleasant weather. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

What cities in Thailand have you visited? You never say anything about it. All you do is whinge about other posters.

Perhaps the best year of your life. Others might prefer to do something a bit more diverse with their lives. I get that is all the travelling you can afford to do, perhaps most of it virtually via Google Maps, but for most, world travel would be far more interesting that trundling around twenty five places in a single country.

You're actually really dumb for a guy who claims to live there for 35 years. The December averages for Bangkok are 21 to 31 which is hot.

Cool 555555

Cool is 10 degrees which only happens up north at night.

Talk about flopping.

Yes it is... Have you actually really travelled around Thailand or has it all been virtual travel? Why don't you have photos and video to show for it?

Is your 'hot fox girlfriend' merely virtual?

As a some time visitor and tourist it would seem logical you may think that. But for those of us that live here especially in the north or northeast know cool season can be really cool, especially coming out of the hot rainy season.

Problem with that is, any place that actually has a cool season, way above us, also has too much smog for our liking.

Does cool off a bit, at night here, but we're really not night owls, and go out, as not much of interest after sunset. And sitting out on the veranda in the dark doesn't do much, so indoors anyway. Actually cool enough that a jacket is required if on a scooter. but rarely below 20°C here.

Udon, past life, and it would dip below 10°C, occasionally, and damn chilly, but smog a bit much at times.

Also incorrect. The gulf islands get more rain from Oct to Dec. Samui often floods.

The west coast is wettest in Aug/Sept.

35 years and you cut n paste AI stuff which is wrong. Embarrassing.

Naah...you'll still be able to read my post. You guys are addicted to the attention. Literally nobodies outside the forum.

That's why you are still here with a reputation score unheard of in the history of the forum. You are infamous.

Please come back next time as Jethro Tull. It would be so perfect. A part time tourist to Thailand lecturing those of us who live here. Do keep up the good work. You are rewarded greatly daily. 🤣🤣🤣

10°C or less is damn chilly to me, after living here and body acclimated to the tropics. Even 15-20°C is chilly if a breeze. Udon was quite chilly at night for a couple months, especially if on a scooter or in a tuk tuk.

Friend came to visit during cool season and we did a pub crawl, with tuk tuks, and after sunset, since so well planned, we had to stop & get a cheap jacket from vendor as freezing our butts off in the tuk tuk between bars.

Average lows for Udon are 16 degrees. Dropping below 10 is a cold snap. I've lived in minus 8. To me 8 degrees is no big deal.
