The National Authority for Child Care (NACC) in the Philippines has announced that 1,672 children are now legally available for adoption. The “Kaya Ko! Program” is aiming to prepare children, especially those without permanent families, for independent living by the age of 18. Additionally, 1,302 children are currently undergoing assessments to determine if they can be reunited with their families or placed in alternative care programs. This initiative reflects the government's commitment to improving the welfare of vulnerable children.

Authorities are strongly encouraging the public to consider legal adoption, highlighting that the process has become more accessible. This move is part of a broader push to ensure every child has a stable and loving environment. Experts believe that these measures could significantly impact the well-being of children, providing better opportunities for growth and development.

Moving forward, the NACC plans to continue refining these processes to make adoption and family reunification more efficient and effective. The ongoing assessment and support programs play a crucial role in ensuring that children who cannot be adopted still receive the care they need.
