Just completely forget bathing and shaving for the rest of your natural duration and never perform either ever again. Totally overrated and unnecessary.

You must be joking looking at so many chubbies eating absolute rubbish, deep fried in old oil, KFC etc.

True. However, they all lower surface tension to about 25 dynes/cm. Nonionic sufactants can only get to 35 dynes/cm. You did forget sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate, very common in detergent powders.

In a shower, bacteria and dead skin cells are removed by soap.

In a swimming pool, the same are sterilized/oxidized by chlorine.

Different mechanism, same end result.

Swimming is much better for the back than showering.

My first employment as a trainee chemist was with a soap and detergent manufacturer.

30 minutes in the shower, and never less.

Why rush a good thing?

The Great Tush-Dehydration: A Guide to Turning Yourself into a Human Raisin

In the pursuit of spiritual enlightenment—or perhaps just trying to remember where you left your car keys—many of us treat the morning shower like a deep-sea expedition. However, if you are spending 30 minutes under the spray, you aren't just washing; you are staging a hostile takeover of your own epidermis.

Here is why your "relaxation" is actually a declaration of war:

The "Boil-in-Bag" Strategy

Stepping into a scalding hot shower for half an hour is a fantastic idea—if your goal is to be served with a side of mashed potatoes. That "refreshing" heat is actually a highly efficient industrial solvent. It doesn't just rinse off the day’s grime; it treats your natural skin oils like they’re grease stains on a driveway.

The Eviction of Suppleness

You might think you’re hydrating, but you’re actually performing an oil heist. Those precious lipids keeping your tush supple and bounce-ready? They’re currently swirling down the drain, heading for the local water treatment plant. By the twenty-minute mark, your skin transitions from "youthful glow" to "19th-century parchment paper."

The Eczema Invitation

If your skin were a nightclub, a 30-minute hot shower is the equivalent of firing the bouncers and leaving the back door propped open with a brick. You aren't just "cleaning"; you are sending out VIP gold-foil invitations to Eczema and her rowdy friends.

They don’t just show up; they move in, unpack their bags, and start a heavy metal band in your pores. By the time you finally step out, your body doesn't feel clean—it feels like a topographical map of the Sahara Desert.

The Verdict: Unless you are trying to achieve the texture of a sun-dried tomato, maybe cut the aquatic meditation short. Your tush—and your dermatologist’s blood pressure—will thank you.

I've never seen one.

But, what about YOU. are you a very fat person?

Of course, there is more than one way to be fat.

You got, for example: Fat Head, etc.

Yes, I know.

This is why I mentioned Soap to you....and SURFACTANTS......

No need to thank me, though.

Thailand is definitely getting heavier no doubt about it. There's a large contingent looking more like westerners daily. Having said that Bangkok still has standards.

I wonder.

Do you believe that there is any strong correlation between being slim, trim and fit, and having higher intelligence?

You don't need to shave at all and you certainly don't need to shower every day. In fact, it's bad for the skin.

Yeah you want to wash the smelly parts.

I don't understand what you're asking.

If you're standing in a shower you're still standing.

Or maybe you could sit in a chair and your servant could soap and spray you.

Do you mean like a sponge bath in bed?

Surely you could find paid help for such things.

I guess you're playing around but there probably is quite an untapped demand for such services.

A foam bath tub, a rubber air madras , oil massage and a quick rinse afterwards is possible some places

If you are talking about physical intelligence, then yes. Staying slim, fit, healthy, showered, and shaved usually takes some level of discipline, self-awareness, routine, and impulse control. It does not automatically mean high IQ, but it often reflects practical and social intelligence, as well as the ability not to get completely stuck in endless existential questions, but to move on with life.

Thailand is hot all the time, and if you get out of your house to do things, you're going to sweat more, and even coming from Texas I noticed how many showers Thais take daily, because in Texas you have AC in every home, on all day in the heat, unlike many here who either don't have AC, or just use it at night when sleeping or watching TV. It was once a day back home, and here it's twice at least, unless I mow the yard or do anything else outside, then it's three.

Exactly, my daily shower count increases while in Thailand.

Yes and no

Definitely a correlation between money and fitness, good eating habits, enjoying good food.

I usually shower every other day unless I've done something that makes me sweat a lot, and shave only once a week. I have the now-popular "week-old" beard, but now, at my age (80), it's all white.

Easy enough to give up shaving and grow a beard. Beards don't upset most people. Giving up showering, however, may result in, after a few days, people giving you a pretty wide berth.

Just make sure you stay in the Bukao area so no one else has to put up with your body odor.

As to getting a girl to cme in and do it

HEYMR CLIPBOARD

GET THE PENCIL SHARPENED. GO TO THE DIFFERENT BARS AND ASK THE DEAR LADIES WHAT THEY WOULD CHARGE YOU TO DO THIS DEED

I shower once a month, whether I need it or not.

No I am NOT fat @ 68kg and 174 tall. The only way to get my BMI down is to grow a couple of cm!

Please GG, don't use yourself as an example, thanks.

Listening to LBC one day last week, and they must use OVERWEIGHT and not FAT. Why use nine letter when you can say it in three? 555

Can't remember I met a Thai girl who smelled bad, or smelled a Thai, must be the most natural scent ever among most lands and cultures, except when they eat Plala and Thai northern or Isaan sausage.

Is there really NOTHING good about getting old, besides not dying?

Surely, there must be something.......

Anyone know?

Well, in my old age I’ve decided to re-achieve a perky butt! I guess many people would define that as vanity - well indeed it is - so what? It’s a thankless non-ending endeavour at the gym, that may or may not give results - does it really matter?

Not really! But having fun whilst perusing it - is entertaining!

Showering daily doesn't worry me but shaving gives me the sh*ts. I tried growing a beard several times but having fair hair a beard doesn't suit me.

One who actually shocked me had France at 2. Place. When been travelling with sports, they where to least hygenic people I met. If there where someone who smelled, there wher frenzyies around. Back in the days Russians did not shower everyday, but still they didnt smell much. Visited a few Olympic schools right after the Glasnost, and not the worst I had experienced except public toilets.

Removing facial hair can be very easy, quick, simple, painless and nt expensive.

Use VEET (and there's many other good brands of hair removal creams Imple process:

  1. Wash your face, neck etc., very well. when you take a shower ot whatever.

  2. Apply the recommended* amount of VEET cream and rub it in well (*don't aaply more than recommended it can burn the skin.)

  3. Leave it for 5 minutes, then use a face towel with warm water to wipe the cream off and the hair/ whiskers and roots will come off as well.

  4. After maybe 6 or 7 days some small regrowth will start to appear.

  5. Revert to step 1 above.

    Simple, quick, effective, not expensive.

Years ago, my mom's hairdresser used to do electrolysis on men's beards, either removing all or usually just shaping the beard so that shaving would no longer be needed.

Well everybody their own way.

There is even a guy, called pee guru, and is treating his skin with his own pee !

He is even drinking it.

Dont know if it is the same guy , but is on facecrap.

Once I saw it on tv, leaving me flabbergasted.

However he didnt shave.
