I'm Tired of Shaving & Bathing Everyday: How much to avoid?

Featured Replies

  • Popular Post

Dear Folks,

I just, once again, exited the shower, and it was a very boring shower, indeed.

While showering, I realized, once again, just how much I hate to shower myself, and to shave myself.

I am REALLY getting bored, by the way.

And so, I am wondering:

How much might I need to pay someone, some female, to visit my house, once per day, to shower and shave me.

Have YOU ever thought of this better option?

For sure, if I could find some reliable female to bathe and shower me, then I would be happy to pay.

The way I look at it is like: I don't like washing my car. Or, I didn't like washing my Benz, when I had one.

So, basically, it is the SAME THING.....

I don't like washing cars, even my own.

And, I also do not like washing my own body, nor shaving my own beard.

So....

What might the cost be here, where I live?

And, if the cost is TOO HIGH where I live, then I am willing to move to some other place where labor costs are lower.

Any help?

I guess you recall that Letterman swore that after he quit his show that he would never again shave.

I am no different than HE....for sure.

I need some good advice.

I also think that hiring people to come to one's house to shower and shave one might be good for the Thai economy.

I am sure of it....

Best regards,

Gamma

Note: If I were more of an enterprising young man, then I would even start a Showering & Shaving Service. But, I am not. I just want some reliable female to come, once per day, to shower and shave me...

I am sure that having such a service would vastly improve both my hygiene and my peace of mind, while living here in Thailand.

Just completely forget bathing and shaving for the rest of your natural duration and never perform either ever again. Totally overrated and unnecessary.

Comparing showering himself to washing a Benz is already quite a leap, but then immediately turning it into an economic development proposal for the financially needy in Thailand somehow takes it even further into cringe orbit.

The most stunning part of these bizarre brain farts he has is not even the topics themselves, it is the total confidence with which these thoughts are presented here to others, as if the rest of humanity has secretly been wondering the exact same thing all along but was too afraid to ask.

You don't need to shave at all and you certainly don't need to shower every day. In fact, it's bad for the skin.

Yeah you want to wash the smelly parts.

I don't understand what you're asking.

If you're standing in a shower you're still standing.

Or maybe you could sit in a chair and your servant could soap and spray you.

Do you mean like a sponge bath in bed?

Surely you could find paid help for such things.

I guess you're playing around but there probably is quite an untapped demand for such services.

What normal person wouldn't want that job? Just check yourself into your friendly neighborhood nursing home for decrepit nutters and they will provide everything you need. Shaving, bathing, straight jackets, rubber rooms, the works! Just ask GG, surely he can arrange something for your at the sanitarium where he mops floors.

You should take a shower in under five minutes and shave every three days.

Older you get, you should shower less.

Showering Frequency for Older Adults

Recommended Frequency

Older adults are generally advised to shower about once or twice a week. This frequency helps maintain hygiene while preventing skin issues that can arise from daily washing.

Removing facial hair can be very easy, quick, simple, painless and nt expensive.

Use VEET (and there's many other good brands of hair removal creams Imple process:

  1. Wash your face, neck etc., very well. when you take a shower ot whatever.

  2. Apply the recommended* amount of VEET cream and rub it in well (*don't aaply more than recommended it can burn the skin.)

  3. Leave it for 5 minutes, then use a face towel with warm water to wipe the cream off and the hair/ whiskers and roots will come off as well.

  4. After maybe 6 or 7 days some small regrowth will start to appear.

  5. Revert to step 1 above.

    Simple, quick, effective, not expensive.

Not that you might care:

But, I have UN-Ignored you, based on this comment.

I just hope that, in the future, you will continue to provide this same level of interesting commentary.

Don't let yourself down.

If you can maintain this same standard, then I will not RE-Ignore you.

You owe it to the forum, TV, too.....

I must wash TWICE a DAY.....

I feel good when I do.

I don't smell, unlike some others.....

I mean: I don't smell like a goat, or nothing......

It is not that I can't find a lady.

It is only that I would never ask the ladies I know to do this job.

I must pay if I want to have this service.

Surely a valuable blessing I don't deserve. Perhaps you should reevaluate your hasty decision.

In full agreement. You are surely god's gift to women, in every sense of the metaphor.

Everyone I ever met who has hygiene issues has always believed the same. But you are of course different and special. So we'll all take just your word for it. No need to try and prove yourself.

Grow a beard, and go for a swim every day. Problem solved, and the exercise will do you good.

Surely, judging by your recent comment, you have finally redeemed yourself.

There is no need to reinstate you to my IGNORE list.

Now, no more backsliding, from here on in....please.

Keep your comments ironical and interesting, if you please. And....

No more BORING comments from you....PLEASE....!!!!

In the future.

If you can do this, then all will be fine.

I smell fine.

Fun fact: I used to think that old people's smell, that slightly musty smell people get after age 40, was due to poor hygeine and laundry practice. However, turns out it's due to a change in metabolism producing the aldehyde 2-nonenal, which is not very soluble in soap so hard to get rid of.

Wait....

Do you really think this is true?

Please provide some evidence.

If so...then I must off myself...PDQ....

Thank you.

The assertion regarding the chemical origin of age-related body odor is scientifically accurate. The phenomenon is primarily attributed to the production of 2-nonenal, an unsaturated aldehyde with the molecular formula $C_{9}H_{16}O$.

Biochemical Mechanism

The production of 2-nonenal is a result of the oxidative degradation of specific fatty acids on the skin surface. As individuals age, typically beginning in the fourth decade (age 40+), the composition of sebum changes.

  1. Increase in Fatty Acids: There is a documented increase in the concentration of omega-7 unsaturated fatty acids, specifically palmitoleic acid, within the sebaceous glands.

  2. Oxidation: These fatty acids undergo oxidative breakdown, a process catalyzed by exposure to oxygen or lipid peroxides.

  3. Byproduct Formation: The resulting byproduct of this lipid peroxidation is 2-nonenal.

Properties and Persistence

The claim regarding the difficulty of removal via conventional hygiene practices is supported by the chemical properties of the molecule:

Solubility: 2-nonenal is a hydrophobic (lipid-soluble) compound. While standard surfactants in soap can emulsify surface oils, 2-nonenal often remains trapped within the skin's lipid barrier or persists in the fibers of clothing due to its low volatility.

Olfactory Threshold: Humans have a very low olfactory threshold for 2-nonenal, meaning it can be detected by the human nose at extremely low concentrations.

Hygiene vs. Metabolism: Research indicates that the presence of this compound is independent of personal hygiene or laundry frequency. It is a biological inevitability related to metabolic changes in skin chemistry and the weakening of the body's natural antioxidant defenses with age.

Hence, the term....

He smells like an OLD GOAT.....
