Trump administration officials are encouraging the United Arab Emirates to get more heavily involved in the Iran war and seize one of Tehran’s Gulf islands, The Telegraph understands.

Someone in the American Government knows <deleted> all about the post colonial history of the Persian Gulf. The only islands the UAE Arabs want back are the Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunb islands. By encouraging the Arabs to capture Iranian territory with this half cocked, <deleted> up <deleted> of a plan, the Americans are deliberately fanning the flames of war. A 1969 treaty between Qatar and Iran settled the sovereignty of the Lavan Island. If the UAE invaded that island, will Qatar want to do something about it? Maybe use it as an excuse to size the Harwar Islands from Bahrain.

Of course, the story has come from the Daily Telegraph. Once, a fine, trustworthy British newspaper, now owned by the Germans.
