TMN Cable TV

Featured Replies

The BBC channel seems to have disappeared from TMN and has been replaced by GB News. BBC isn't much of a loss to be honest but I wonder why it's gone. Or maybe it's just my set-up that's glitched?

That is the reason I gave up on cable TV here in Thailand. They would cut channels or move them to a different channel number without warning. I would get into a series to find the channel removed, and not be able to see the completion.

They have actually been pretty good for several years now. At least the signal quality has been reliable, unlike another local provider who never seemed to monitor just what they were sending down the cable.

BBC, of course, has been getting pretty much slated of late - accused of just being a government mouthpiece. Maybe they are. I wonder if the channel swap has been politically motivated or if it's just TMN ? Maybe their subscription has expired.

Ha ha !!

Did they provide 'BBC world news' or the UK specific version ? I don't think the UK specific version is supposed to be viewed outside the UK..

You can of course use a VPN with UK IP to view with the BBC Iplayer thingy me bob.

Apparently, World News America, whatever that means.

@doctormann I sent you a private message.

I've had Sophon forever, mainly for the British/English language news channels, but nowadays it's just Al Jazeera English and a very flaky version of Sky News. CNA is hardly a real news channel and as for Fox, no thanks. I've been thinking of changing from cable TV to AIS Play. I'm not interested in the premium packages including sports, just news for me, some lakorn for the teelac and a few kiddy channels for the ankle biter.

How would you rate AIS Play against the cable TV companies, is it worth the bother for what I want? I get all my films and TV shows from P2P, so I'm not interested in those, either.

You can get all you might want to watch ,remember you can only watch

one channel at a time..on the Internet , all for free, just a Pc connected to

your Tv. store the sites in your browser ,instant access.

BBC has restricted all its channels including radio channels for rebroadcast since last year and they have a new computer to monitor it ,,

I download and store all the files I might want to watch to my NAS server

instant access even when the internet is down with absolutely no buffering

and they can't be arbitrarily removed on the whim of some political decision or absurd legal claims as just recently seen with Chanel 4

'married at first sight' series.

True enough, been frustrating getting a UK News fix over the years. Now we have a channel that loses audio or freezes for a while..have to watch YT adverts I guess.

GB News is frozen this morning! Reduced to getting news from Aljazeera!

Is that a good or bad thing?!

They limited their Sounds online offering to Radio 2 and the World Service. One has to burrow down with a VPN to get the local stations.

They are probably using AI to track down and block the hundreds of VPN proxies. Before that, I imagine it was done by loads of geeks, either in a big shed at Ally Pally, or working remote.

I use the Tune In app to stream BBC local radio stations (among other stations), without a VPN.

Try this for news channels from around the world!

Watch BBC News Live TV from United Kingdom - Online TV channel

Well, it's either that or Fox and that would definitely not be a good thing - ha-ha!

There are actually some other English news channels on TMN. ABC from Oz and others.

This is not a desperate situation - I can get whatever I want over the internet, including BBC, using a VPN. It's just that I'm used to watching the news on my ancient, dumb, Panasonic CRT TV while I'm eating breakfast. That TV refuses to die so I have no incentive to replace it with a 'smart' one.

I post it as a link but AN seems to be removing it.

Try searching for "FreeInterTVCom".

watched 5 minutes of G.B news [bbc replacement]..was a p**** in a green shirt claiming 'Girls are ok with trans men in their shower/changing rooms'.....even if they appear to be masculine, large and with a shadow of facial hair......pleased to see that this channel has been removed...the two women with him said nothing against this.

I have just re installed TMN but it will be the last .

I had TMN for 2 or 3 Years prior to going abroad for 2 years, on my return I have re installed it only to see the Movies I watched 3 years ago are still being broadcast, and BBC has disappered

Yes, BBC has been taken off the channel list for some reason. It did suffer from the BBC woke bias syndrome but used to cover world news as well as that from the UK. I don't find that GBN, which has replaced it, is entirely satisfactory. I don't much like the format - seems more like a chat show at times. Al Jazeera is still available in English, as are Fox (!), Bloomberg (!) and various other English language channels. Take your pick.
