Ya know, a lot of us post sarcasm and irony. But others don’t get it’s sarcasm and respond with outrage. (Sometimes me!)

It’s pretty easy to label these post with /s to avoid misunderstandings among the faithful

Try not being so sensitive. It’s just text that you read and elect yourself to engage in. Get past it already or find something else to do.

If people don't get the sarcasm it's up to them , Sarcasm is a very British thing, other people may get the wrong end of the stick, /s regards Worgeordie

It’s not the form of humor that matters, it’s whether an individual has it or not. Some folks were just born to be sour sticks in the mud.

Some say that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. Then again that's up to them, personally I don't care.

It’s actually a very valid point.

I’d never really seen the “/s” tag - or whatever you’d call it - used before, but it does remove a lot of ambiguity, especially when people come from different backgrounds and languages where the nuance of sarcasm can easily be missed.

In the past I’ve used the upside-down smiley 🙃 to indicate sarcasm, although I’m not sure how widely understood or commonly used that is.

And on this comment...

Brilliant reply!

/s

Given how much human communication relies on tone, facial expression, body language and context, it’s no surprise that text-only communication so often leads to misunderstandings.

In many cases, the issue is not what was actually written, but how it is interpreted — often shaped by the reader’s mood, assumptions or personal disposition.

Im in favor of any simple ways to clarify 😃

I'd say it's only the leftist, Wokes and LGBTQ community.

Poor dears, they're never happy.

And some post hateful political rhetoric under the guise of an "opinion".Then they try to escape responsibility by claiming "I was only joking" yuck, yuck. Yea, sure.

I would say that the "thick and slow" who don't get others humor are evenly distributed across the political spectrum.
