TV repair

Featured Replies

I need TV repair service at home in Pattaya, to fix 55" Samsung smart TV. It's probably faulty power block, or board, it just stopped turning on but led from remote is blinking. I want to repair this existing TV and not buy new, because otherwise it was just right. So any real life suggestions welcome. I'm not going to bring it anywhere because it's huge and attached to wall.

This is a common problem with Samsung TV's. I Have a Samsung TV, same problem. Samsung has a service centre on North Pattaya road.

Would be good to have just some repair service at home, because I'm not going to bring it anywhere, it's huge

I'm sure the Samsung service centre has technicians who visit your home but it's going to be expensive.

As Scuba suggested earlier, purchase a new TCL

I'm just wondering, isn't there some guys with a little knowledge of electronics available.. because soldering a capacitor or changing whole power block is not a rocket science or something very expensive itself.

Have you tried https://www.samsung.com/th/support/contact/ where they have troubleshooting guides and phone numbers for home visits? Not needed it myself as my Samsung TVs still work.

You want it done cheap, not going to happen

New TV's have more flat sound, because they are paper thin, also Samsung dropped DTS sound support. Changing my older premium model with curved screen to some TCL or basic model Samsung doesn't make sense, generally it's better for me to repair it, because it is just right and also I use specific Tizen apps for streaming it has.

Sorry, but I have retired.

Good luck.

I think you'll find the new budget TVs exceet the old Tvs in every way.

My TCL 75" (16kbht) Tv certainly beats the pants off my 55" Samsung (25kbht) Tv.

Sound is better, picture is better, connectiverty is better, Google TV apps are better.

I have absolutely new Hair TV in other room, as for Android TV it is very good, but somehow I liked watching movies better on Samsung, also can connect external HDD to Samsung but Android TV didn't recognise the format, so I just want to keep it so Android TV in one room and in other room Samsung TV with Tizen OS and apps I used to use

Haier and Hisense are second rate tvs

Best part about my 65" Samsung is I download movies to my phone and connect with DeX

I expect it is easy with other tv brands but I have been doing this for years and its so easy.

No regrets whatsoever about Hair, moreover design and size wise it was perfect fit, I needed 50" not bigger for that particular room with stand leg in center. For gaming and very bright rooms there are better options sure, but for price it's above expectations.

Smart View from Samsung phone is also what I use often, it just works easily.

I agree, TCL is better than Samsung, I am very happy with mine.

I set up a local area network between my phone and Samsung TV, easy using Gemini. TV sees all movies on my phone, using File Manager +

Agree about Haier.

Hisense top of the range stuff is up there with TCL's these days.

I had an expensive Samsung TV expire after 3 years, unfixable. I would never buy another. Now i have a 75in TCL cost 30k and a 65 in Hisense cost 15k. Both mini LEDS great picture/sound. Not worth repairing TVs now.

I was looking at the Hisense 85" tv for 20kbht.

Reviews said many dead pixels and no exchange ....... so I didn't buy it along with 200 other people reading the same review.

As I said, I'm talking about their latest top of the range stuff.

Not the cheaper models you're looking at.

My 16kbht TCL 75" is perfect in almost every way.

I'm not sure if I've been unlucky, but I've had Sony, LG and Samsung here.

They all died after about 4 years.

I think they're built to a price these days.

My next TV will be a TCL.

A friend of mine got a 5 year warranty with his.

Good for you, but I'm not talking about your TCL though.

I'm talking about the top of the range Hisense's.

FWIW, my next TV will be a TCL.

Maybe ask in HomePro. They might know someone. Or as earlier poster said, try the Samsung service centre. they will probably send someone to take a look at your home.

My local Samsung service centre came to my home, but took the tv away to fit a new screen. That still had problems, so next time, they brought a new screen and swapped it out right there and then. Been OK since. 🤞

The Samsung service centre came out to mine.

Took it away and was eventually quoted 10 000 Baht for a repair.

Not worth fixing these days.

I don't know how old your TV is but doubt it would be worth fixing unless you can get it done on the cheap.
