I had an expensive Samsung TV expire after 3 years, unfixable. I would never buy another. Now i have a 75in TCL cost 30k and a 65 in Hisense cost 15k. Both mini LEDS great picture/sound. Not worth repairing TVs now.

And me!

Samsung had a one year guarantee, fixed inside the year (PSU bang and replace), failed again after 18 months (PSU bang) and unfixable.

This is a common problem with Samsung TV's. I Have a Samsung TV, same problem. Samsung has a service centre on North Pattaya road.

I know you want to hangon to your Samsung (I despise mine), but if it costs too much too repair instead buy a TCL 55" from Shopee/Lazada for 8-10k, 06-06 Deals are available now. TCL has Android TV mu

If it is out of warrenty, not likely worth fixing, the cost versus a new tv now days, tvs are throw away once broken, go and have a look at a TCL in home pro or the likes.

Would be good to have just some repair service at home, because I'm not going to bring it anywhere, it's huge

Repair service at home will be very unlikely, they would most certainly want to take it back to their workshop that has all the necessary diagnostic tools and supplies.

If you go on Youtube and search Samsung flashing power led there are many videos with suggestions how to fix the problem if you are slightly technically inclined its possible to D.I.Y

but do follow safety procedures when working with mains voltage appliances.

If you are not feeling adventurous

There are 2 electronic supply shops on Thepprasit road that could most likely point you in the direction of a repair 'technician' as far as I know they don't offer a repair service themself

but all the technicians go there to get supplies so they will surely know someone.

I'm sure the Samsung service centre has technicians who visit your home but it's going to be expensive.

As Scuba suggested earlier, purchase a new TCL

Samsung sent technicians to our house to repair our tv. They would not do the repair at our home but wanted to take it to their service center from where we would have to collect it ( 2 hour drive away ) It was going to be so expensive that it was clearly a waste of time.

If you can find a local place that does repairs might bve worth it but whether they will make a home call or not is doubtful.

Probably not what the OP wants to hear, but I consider that to be a circle of life thing. Putting it out on the curb will allow a Thai family to use a little elbow grease and solder to end up with a TV they couldn't afford on 300 baht a day.

Edit: If I binned it in the USA, I'd feel guilty about the environment and waste. Not so much in Thailand. The odds that it will end up in a landfill are much lower here than "back home".

The Samsung service centre came out to mine.

Took it away and was eventually quoted 10 000 Baht for a repair.

Not worth fixing these days.

I don't know how old your TV is but doubt it would be worth fixing unless you can get it done on the cheap.

My experience. Had a screen go bad a few months out of warranty.

Samsung Service quote some high percentage of the price to buy new, with only 90 day repair warranty.

There`s an excellent TV repair guy on 3rd Road between soi 19 and 21....but as he is handicapped he works from his shop only....he can collect or you can deliver.....honest and reliable.

I was looking at the Hisense 85" tv for 20kbht.

Reviews said many dead pixels and no exchange ....... so I didn't buy it along with 200 other people reading the same review.

I've had a 75" Hisense LCD TV for 5 years now without any issues. Great picture. All ports function properly.

I recently took a 43" TCL bedroom TV to NumChai in Pattaya for repair. I had to pay an B800 fee upfront. The TV itself was operating but the HDMI ports were not. NumChai later said I needed a new Motherboard, almost B3000 which is more than the TV was worth so I collected it, now sitting under a bed. I have used NumChai for repair of other appliances and their technicians have always been prompt and competent. Prices seem reasonable to me.

I replaced the board by myself. There's only two boards. Really simple, took the old board to the Samsung parts place, between big c xtra and sukhumvit, 1-2 blocks off klang. They looked up the part and gave me the latest compatible version which probably had the initial problem fixed.

I gave it to some service for repair which advertised at Facebook a lot, paid 500 baht for delivery and back, looks kinda shady operation to me, now I worry they can damage it delivering. Let's see what happens, at worse case scenario, I'm preparing to buy new one..

Your comment is kinda scary.

Facebook and shady.

Good luck, hope it ends well for you

Go to any building site, I'm sure you'll find a repairman or any win driver they're good sparkys

I'm just wondering, isn't there some guys with a little knowledge of electronics available.. because soldering a capacitor or changing whole power block is not a rocket science or something very expensive itself.

Tell that to the LG repair cenre. Simple poblems run about 6 to 8,000Baht plus transport cost (payable to LG) to get the to their repaid centre and return.

Here they won't do a 'home diagnosis' of the problem, has to be picked up by LG, repaired in their service centre and returned to the house by LG.

I asked if they provide a detailed list of the repair activity / costs of parts etc. Response a big NO.

I'm guessing Samsung is a similar 'process'.

And washers. I had a Samsung that blew it's motherboard after about 3 years. We bought another motherboard and that only lasted 2 more years

Change brands to a company that wasn't caught trying to bribe politicians with golf bags full of cash...? 😁

PS I got my eye on a 30K thb LG TV for Christmas but really they all look great to me different but all great only difference is the prices on the stickers

LG is popular for a reason.

The bottom line is they don't really want to fix them, so they make it cost prohibitive.

I set up a local area network between my phone and Samsung TV, easy using Gemini. TV sees all movies on my phone, using File Manager +

Sounds good but I would probably take a while to set that up

I just open Dex on my phone connect to my TV and all movies are in Vlc or MX player

Perfect stream .

My method uses VLC as well. Gemini will chat you through it in 5 minutes

Didn't LG sell all their TV screen production to a chinese company a few years ago?

Is your router made by a Chinese manufacturer?

Sure your CCP TV will be spying on you

But so does my Korean phone running American Android OS with Google listening to the microphone 24/7 even when it's not active in order to push ads to me on topics I'm discussing

At least that's the consensus of many who have noticed getting ads targeted for things they talk about but have zero interest in, hmmmm 🤔

I have no issue with Chinese. The point was it isn't LG anymore, a bit like Samsung stuff made abroad

I recently had Samsung Service rep come to my home to check on my TV that would turn on but only one fixed image appeared and could not be changed to anything else. Technician had it fixed in 20 minutes by rerunning setup and installing a software update. No cost as still under warranty. My point is that the Samsung TV technicians are very knowledgeable and professional. Strongly suggest you try them before some local person who might troubleshoot your set and if the trouble was found would still likely want to take your set to his shop to await parts before he could complete the repairs.

Give this guy a try this guy Repair Pattaya call 023689417, he is in Jomtien but advertises he comes to the home.

I suggest you call your local Samsung Service Centre, who are authorised supplier of genuine parts and has been trained by their factory personnel. I have used them in Samui, where I lived for 15 years, and find them fast and efficient.

He wants it done on the cheap

What it's worth I took my OLED LG for repair to a local shop and needed a replacement for power board. This is common issue with LG and Samsung. Total costs for repair was 3500 thb including delivery to my home after repair. This is something that can be done at home if they bring replacement board with them but I suggest to take the TV to repair centre who knows what they are doing. The first one said that I need to replace the OLED screen for 20000 thb... Was worth repairing.

I already looking for new TV while waiting what that repair shop I gave Samsung will tell.

TCL 65Q7D good ?

Samsung had a problem with bad capacitors in their TVs a while back. There was a class action lawsuit in North America which Samsung lost and they had to pay for the repairs, even if out of warranty. Alas that does not apply in Thailand. The power board will need to be replaced. Remove the back cover with a few screws. I'm sure there's a youtube for your model that gives instructions. The board will be attached with a few screws and a couple of cables plugged in. Go to the Samsung parts place I mentioned earlier in this thread ang get a replacement. Reassembly is simple.

Good luck.

My replacement board was around 3k.
