Between 2015 and 2023, 6,500 Sudanese nationals have been granted visas under refugee family reunion. In the year to September 2023, 618 Sudanese nationals were granted visas under refugee family reunion. The UK is making a significant commitment, although of course the need is very great, as the hon. Gentleman says, due to the situation in Sudan.

No need to be so abrupt. Yes, these individual national identities exist and these are often fairly and proudly displayed by their peoples. That said, and as history shows, when the collective nations of Great Britain all face the same severe threat, then they all tend to unite as one.

Once the state fails to administer justice (open borders, open welfare, 2 tier policing, Hermer courts) the people look to administer justice themselves.

England went a 1000 years before anyone attempted to standardise the education system, and even then, there was resistance, that ripples to the present day. To an extent, the British Identity is also a relatively modern political construct, woven after the Act of Union, but it didn't go so far as to completely suppress, or attempt to suppress prior identities.

The victim appears to have had a tough life. He has learning difficulties, and is hard of hearing. He lived in the same housing association block as his attacker, and knew him.

Stephen Ogilvie moved to Scotland, and in 2001, was living with a man by the name of David McLeave, a drug dealer. McLeave one day decided to drug Ogilvie with the date rape drug GBH while he was watching TV in Livingston, stripped him naked, and then used aftershave to set him alight, and then filmed it. McLeave got 14 years for this.

Then in 2002, McLeave's drug gang associates tried to kidnap Ogilvie. They got 6 years.

This gang was part of the UVF; essentially the same mob currently ransacking parts of Belfast. They ran the Calders Estate in Edinburgh as a "Loyalist Controlled Zone2NThe police referred to Ogilvie as essentially the gang's "punchbag".

Later on, Ogilvie himself was had up in court for attacking a petrol forecourt COVID screen, in 2020 and assaulting the police, on his birthday. Earlier the same year he was convicted of assaulting a woman, who had just had a stroke, and her partner, when they asked him to leave the property. The judge at the later hearing noted he had 161 convictions, noting "You weigh this record, you don’t read it".
