I thought that more akin to basketball, there being an upper goal in the form of a hoop.

You are probably correct about this.

I am not really up on Aztec sports.

However, I would not mind watching Aztec and Mayan sports.

Some got pretty bloody, or so we are told.

I would find this game very interesting to watch.

ESPECIALLY, I like how the losing team gets sacrificed to the gods. I wish we could do this THESE DAYS...

Google is run the The Indians. And, The Indians seem to watch too much football. Cricket is OK with me. Croquet is FINE with me. But, I detest all forms of football.

I have never played a game of football in my life... At my British single-sex prep school, playing football was banned as a 'sissy game' suitable only for girls. I was brought up to play rugby (I was the hooker, being small in stature), and cricket of course. For me, cricket is England's national game and football is... well..... just for sissies and nancy boys.....

I guess if you have never been much of an athlete, you wouldn't get it.

I played football when very young.

I was on the wrestling team at school.

I was and am an oarsman.

Yet, I DETEST football, and spectator sports.

I detest the IDENTIFICATION of fans with their measly football teams.

This is just so FAKE.....

I detest flag-waving and NATIONALISM, just as much.

Its just so revolting.

Why can't MAN evolve above these animalistic rituals....

I absolutely abhor football, the soccer type. It has got to be one of the most boring sports in the world. It goes on an on with no points scored until one sissy player takes a fake fall and is given a penalty, which might score at the last second of the game. And I hate the jerseys, and the names of some of these teams. Oh my, this discussion has got my blood pressure up.

Thank you.

Likely, nobody could say it better.

Easy, just do what you like to do, and not care about it.

Yes.

But it's so...IN YOUR FACE during this sorry time of year.

I can't even conduct a Google search without being confronted by it.

Will it never end?

What Americans call soccer is my personal cure for insomnia. I always thought the world was playing a joke on Americans, and as soon as we started to say, "Wow, that's really exciting", they would laugh and tell us it's a joke and nobody likes it. Boring does not begin to describe it.

Bill Maher said soccer is what Americans use when they don't want to pay for child daycare. He also said there's more scoring in Bible Camp than in soccer.

In contrast, I long played and enjoyed American football. Look at video of Gale Sayers or Barry Sanders or Randy Moss or Calvin Johnson or Lynn Swann, and there is incredible beauty in their athleticism. If one wants to see what true competitive fire and clutch performance are, watch Tom Brady.

I suppose what one grows up with will always be a favorite. I played football, basketball, baseball and ran track all into my 20s. I've lost interest in baseball, but the other three are still on my list of sports to watch. Soccer, rugby, etc......nah.

  1. Soccer is played in over 210 countries worldwide, with 211 FIFA member associations representing nations and territories across all continents.

Soccer, also known as football in most countries, is the most widely played team sport globally. As of 2025, FIFA recognizes 211 official member associations, which include sovereign nations, dependent territories, and regions with independent football bodies, illustrating the sport’s universal appeal (WorldPopulationReview, Playo) https://www.bing.com/th?id=ODF.es6qaO1KmUq7NZI_wuxZ5wWorld Population Review+1. Beyond FIFA members, several non-FIFA territories like Greenland and Monaco also have active football communities, showing that soccer reaches nearly every corner of the world

How many countries play American football?

Ever seen Australian Rules Football? IMHO this is the best form of any game called football.

One of these days, I want to travel to Australia to watch a match.

League is much better on tv. You can't see the plays live. AFL is better live as they kick the ball high and the players are spread out so can see whats happening. Cricket is better on tv as well as the ball goes so fast you can't see it live.

Go live on a desert island

hey mate i dont care,i hate people who moan about things,u dont have to watch it,i betu like aussie rules

I need help,

You most certainly do!

Not a sports fan at all. Enjoyed playing, but not watching others, especially professionals. Most team sports, IMHO, is fixed any way, for the betting crowd, and a little too obvious at time.

I wouldn't recognize or could tell you who most athletes are now, if I saw them.

GG, You are usually understanding of others desires. Weird post and surprised you are unable to get past your hatred. Simply ignore all the futbol hipe and enjoy what you like.

I no longer am attached to any team nor really care other than watching highlights on occation. Sport brings joy to many and just because a few fools act like imbeciles doesn't detract much from the pleasure sport teams bring to the masses.

All my life I’ve never suspected that all my mates were sissies and nancy-boys.Not sure I like what I see in the mirror either.

Thanks for the heads up.

Weird post and surprised you are unable to get past your hatred.

I do not hate people.

I only hate things.

Also, when I see mass hysteria, and when I see self-destructive behavior, such as engaging in the game of football watching, my heart weeps, and I worry about Humanity.

WHY IS GOOGLE trying to teach me what a DIVING HEADER IS????

This has become COMPLETELY OUT OF HAND.....

I think more people should complain about things like this.

This will ruin my day, which had started out so well, the moment I woke up.

Dear Folks,

I detest football, and this includes football and American style football.

Also, I detest the fact that I must be reminded that football exists in the world.

And, these days, every time I open Google Search, I am reminded of what I detest most.

This BICYCLE KICK DISGUSTS ME, so much. Over, and Over, and Over, and Over. When will this madness end?

Do you feel as do I?

And, how do you deal with it?

If this continues much longer, I will switch to DuckDuckGo, which I also happen to detest.

I need help,

Best regards,

I used to love football in England when the Premiership was Div 1. Now I can't stand it. The game is played mainly by foreign imported prima donnas who go to ground if anyone touches them and take the knee for an organisation that goes around burning and looting towns and cities. I feel privileged that I'm old enough to remember when it really was the beautiful game.

By the way, American "Football" is wrongly named. It's a game played mainly with the hands and should therefore be called "handball". There's no such sport as "soccer".

Only fools detest something that is easy to ignore and of importance to many others.

What's the point of detesting something like football.

I don't see any reason to detest football (soccer) as such, the sport. I do see several reasons to detest FIFA and their head clown in charge.

I've always liked the Mets, Yankees and Minnesota Vikings. I've watched the Vikings be the best in football for quite a few years and always blow it in the playoffs, whereas the Mets and Yankees have won it all a lot of times, Yankees especially. A lot of it is about money, along with ego and attitudes. They are all overpaid for playing a sport, part time entertainment, so you get to a point where you care a lot less then before. This video from the Bronx Tale tells it a little..............https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QMo_LC-n3OE

I've glanced over the last four topics that you've posted and I feel that it would be greatly unfair for me not to at least congratulate you on mastering the art of creating uninteresting content.

The clown is no more then an attention seeking tosser.

Living in Europe, I find most sports reports on TV boring, mainly football and tennis. Rugby is a bit more interesting.

Yes, maybe American football is more exciting.

But American football also has a concussion problem.

Some players end up with their brains fried from playing what is a dangerous contact sport.

At least soccer the players are not risking their health just to entertain you.

True, but you wouldn't know it by watching the drama unfold as they fall to the ground crying and squirming in agony at the touch of a feather. If they're hurt that bad, they should be removed from the game.
