Maybe, just maybe, some zillionaires have come to their senses and realised a portion of their riches should be shared.

Personally, I'm in favor of a higher marginal tax rate for anyone making over, say, $1 million a year. And a MUCH higher marginal tax rate for anyone making over, say, $20 million a year. (That's the way it was in the good old days when America was at its strongest. I think the top marginal tax rate the year I was born was around 90%. But we'll never get there again, because guess who funds all the parties' campaigns?)

But that's not what they're peddling. They're peddling confiscation of private property rights and free stuff for people who have never worked a legal job in the last 2 or 3 generations.

That's the problem with indoctrination as opposed to education. They want them stupid enough to leave their home state because they can't make a living under the Blue policies, then vote for those same people and policies where they relocate to. Then they're surprised when that place becomes a crime ridden, high cost craphole.

Perfect example: Austin Texas. Californians have ruined it.

Socialism is where the government ie the people own the means of production.

There is no question about the fact of the democratic party needs to make a strong effort to distance itself from the progressive side, and the extreme left side of the party. The vast majority of American Democrats are Centrist.
