Should Thailand fine men for going topless in public?

I think understanding was not the best of capabilities in school, right? Below you have the initial post I quoted on. Does it stand anything about swimming there? I can help you! The answer is NO. What it stands is a separation of beaches and waterways. Wake up Cole!

Yes, I think your ability to comprehend some things is lacking. Re-read what I originally said. It makes total sense, as another member pointed out to you. Your constant trying to make others look less intelligent actually mirrors your own level of understanding. It has nothing to do with separating beaches and waterways. if you don't understand what someone writes, it's best to avoid commenting on it.

No it's fascism. I want to see nude people.

I'm for equality. Both guys and girls should be able to go topless. That law was passed in NYC in 1992 but few women go topless. The ones that do could beat ya to a pulp!

Yes. Fine the men Bt.10,000 first time. Then expel from Thailand, for good, after the second infraction. Only slim and trim women should be permitted to go topless in Thailand, or in other countries.

Why ban it I bring a party 7 and some whopping jugs.

Those farangs who say, "Yes," collectively love their Nanny-States and I suggest that they should return with all due haste. Utter "nanny-state" tosh?

I was walking down Thapae without a shirt years back and some nanny-state lover stopped on his motorbike to tell me that he thought I should put a shirt on.
I told him what I'd tell anyone. "I think you should mind your own business." 👈🏼 (That's the PG rated version) I laughed him off and kept walking.

This is what happens when someone is unaware of their surroundings and does what is considered disrespectful in their current locale.

Beach and waterways means places where there are beaches, or on boats, swimming in rivers, lakes, canals. Most anyone would understand what I meant. If there was legal swimming allowed there, it would be fine not wearing a shirt. People go shirtless next to the Hudson River in NYC with the same environment if it's also designated park. If not a park, then no.Walking through Bangkok proper is also a no.

There's even a nude pier on the Hudson. Yes, all parks and watersides should be topless.

Then you better stop commenting then. Live up to your advice now, Fred

I actually understand all of the written word, as English was an easy subject for me and I was hired to teach it. Maybe you should refrain from making yourself out the fool by coming back with the same parroting rhetoric.

Says Fred, and then we all have to believe. You are just a person sitting on a forum delivering a picture of yourself. Thar do not count as evidence and facts. But please continue the discussion as always, nagging like an 80 year old hag.

There is no "we" here that back you. There is only you.

Everyone here is a person sitting on a computer talking to others. This has nothing to do with picturing myself but an answer to a question, the OP.

Again, seeing you didn't comprehend what I originally wrote. Go back and read what the OP is about, and my comment, which makes perfect sense, at least to everyone else.

You're the one who feels the need to come on and correct others you disagreed with before, who pointed out your mistakes, and you took it personally. Best to just not reply, as again, it makes you look anal. You know, discretion.

Nah, what you where quoting now, addressed you last comment. See who don´t understand. Now we established that too. See, another we.

I could care less and society is too soft if they need to fine a man for not wearing a shirt. In the 1980s we would be at the park playing Frisbee or whatever and having a blast. People have to let others decide what they think is appropriate. Weird post and didn't think you were so judgmental - maybe a bad nights sleep?

The slow dropping of standards around the world isn't a good thing, children looking at porn, ultra violence on their phones. Shirtless people walking around town is just uncouth, most people know to put a shirt on, restaurants often ban shirtless people

The world is fine today and I think you are remembering a world that was far from perfect. Much to civilized and scripted today IMO. If I want to go to a park and lay in the grass without a shirt and soak in nature, all good. I enjoy people that don't conform and respect other people's space.

In a beach community, shirtlessness should be for all.

But to see shirtless men walking down the streets in Chiang Mai (usually with a beer in each hand), is contrary to Thailand's culture. For that reason alone, shirtless men should be stopped.
Personally, I see it the same way I see graffiti: "Mommy! Looka Meee!"
It makes me laugh when I see it here in town.

Thank you for the fatherly wakeup-call. I'll take your advice for what it's worth, coming from you. Based on your use of the word 'stand' twice in your reply above, I'd say your capabilities in school were even less than mine. Learn to proofread, Gott!

Yet you do it all the time, acting like a child virtue signalling at every opportunity. Yes, we all see through it but you still do it. You also want to have laws that restrict what "you" feel offensive. Weird... I don't walk shirtless in the streets of Chiang Mai because I don't want to look silly but if someone else finds it appropriate, then up to them and try to grasp this - you really don't matter.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that English is not your first language because all of your replies look like the scribblings of a child, Gott. Under those circumstances, it's probably best to avoid commenting on other people's capabilities in school. Perhaps you write like an adult in your own native language, allowing you to sling your vitriol with much more accuracy.

You remind me of a few people I've known. If someone in the room says that it's 7:00 o'clock, you're the guy compelled to speak up and announce that it's actually 6:59.

Yes, need to start with the old topless foreigners walking briskly with their manboobs bouncing up and down on Jomtien Beach road every morning

5555, I used to do a long beach walk every morning. There was an old foreigner who walked with his handler, she would help him take off his shorts so he could walk in a gstring banana hugging shorts. Hilarious. This was during covid and as we passed they would hurry to put on mask.

I'm sitting here wondering why you feel the need to turn this thread into a personal attack. Why can't you deal with the topic?
And... It's not what "I" find offensive. I don't. I find it silly. Get your facts straight.
But the Thais DO find it offensive, which is why the police often do stop men in town and tell them to dress.
Not me, the Thais. Perhaps you need to find some of that 'peace' in your name.

Perhaps you have to let others be themselves and enjoy their oddness like Thais and many others do every day. BTW, when you comment on a topic, you can't expect others not to react :)

Comment on the 'topic' all you want. That's what the forum is for... staying on topic.

Why turn that into a personal attack? What does it do for you?

You do it all the time. Just look at your post history under your profile. I'm just commenting on your comment as other posters have. I do think I should have not been as personal and I appologise if i crossed the line. I'm cool with moving on :)

That depends on if it actually is 06.59 or 07.00 😂

I didn´t mention any spelling or grammatic errors. That is not something we do here and are told to not do as it is an international form. I was referring to the meaning of entire words.

I would rather say fine the ladies who are n o t topless in public. 😜

I was shocked recently when some young stoner came into my dentist for treatment with no shirt on.

Perhaps confused and looking for a nipple piercing !!!

100% yes unless it's on the beach road. Shirtless men look uncouth and threatening. I really do not see the point in it unless the guy is trying unsuccessfully to look macho. It really is a horrible sight.
