Scottie John found my reply unclear, so let me tell you how it is. At each end of the pitch is a construction called the GOAL. It is 24 feet wide and 8 feet tall and has a net connected to it.

In front of that is a player called the Goalkeeper, or Goalie for short. The other ten players on each side kick and pass the ball to each other trying to get the ball past the Goalie and over the goal-line more times than the other team. 5-5-5 (Sarcasm intended)
