Thai police arrest serial rapist of women, cows, banana trees

Bangkok - Thai police arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of being a serial rapists of women, cows and banana trees, media reports said Tuesday.

Ekkarat Dapngern was arrested by a squad of 10 policemen Monday afternoon in his hideaway in Nakorn Sri Thammarat province, 560 kilometres south of Bangkok, said the Phuchadgarn daily newspaper.

There were several warrants out for Ekkarat's arrest on rape charges and numerous complaints from irate farmers that he had assaulted their cows and banana trees. A 5,000 baht (147 dollars) reward was offered for his arrest.

Police found sniffing glue, several photos of women and a few love letters addressed to "nong wua," or "little sister cow," in Ekkarat's shack.

Asked why he assaulted cows, Ekkarat reportedly answered, "Anyone who has had sex with a cow knows there is nothing odd about it at all." :o

why cant they just report that he was a serial rapist?! If they feel they need to elaborate then put in 'women' and 'animals'. Adding in the banana tree creates a comical feel to the seriousness of the crimes he commited against women. Unreal..

Is this the same guy who got nicked for trying to rape a dog a few years ago because he claimed it was "wagging its tail and acting sexy"?

I am having strife coming to terms with the guy shagging a banana palm. :o

Just be glad you weren't the undercover officer who busted him. :D

Isnt there an english saying, that someone is gone bananas ?,.. he obviously read this and thought he would help out ! The banana's sex life—or lack of it—is cause for growing concern to farmers and scientists.

The domestic banana that we know and love is an asexual clone, one that results from the sedate, artificial act of vegetative propagation. And no pollinated sex means no annoying seeds, which may be good news for hungry consumers but also means that there's little or no genetic variation—and hence little or no resistance to the banana's many natural enemies.

Devoid of sex, the poor cloned banana is a sitting target for any! pest.! Finding a way of introducing a little spice—and therefore genetic variety—into the reproductive life of the banana (and its cousin the plantain) is therefore a pressing problem.

That's why a project to do just that has now begun. Announced recently, it involves scientists from 11 countries forming a consortium to decode the banana's genome within the next five years.
