Every man pays, whether it's a salary, or gifts and prizes and general expenses. There is no getting around paying for a woman. The only way to avoid that is to stay single. Women are expensive.

Having said that some of us think it's worth it.

Unfortunately as a Laotian my wife can't legally work in Thailand.

Why?

According to AI "Yes, Lao citizens can work in Thailand, and they represent one of the largest groups of migrant workers in the country."

and

"The governments of Thailand and Laos signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2002 (updated in 2016) to create a transparent legal process for recruiting Lao nationals"

I'm married, so we share my income as a family, including our 11-year-old son. Unfortunately as a Laotian my wife can't legally work in Thailand.

Couldn't she get that MOU? Or a work permit?

Besides the cheap charlies yes. Single men pay more for a temporary thing. Teamwork is what always works the best, no matter if it's a year or 40.

He will never reveal anything about himself, but more than happy to gather private info about you.

GG 2.0, although GG just takes notes and does reveal some of the weird things he's done.

Ya know, that responsibility comes with the Y chromosome no matter what culture you live in. We are the providers and protectors. Since I was 17 with my first live-in g/f, I have always set up a joint bank account. If you can't trust the one you sleep with, you should be alone.

Do you have a gf? Where do you live? How much do you spend on p4p?

Not sure about the history of Thailand, but in most Western countries they forced women into the labor force because salaries did not keep up with housing costs, unless you're a doctor.

Once upon a time, one average salary easily got you a down payment on a mortgage.

Most women enjoy working anyway, but cost of living is too high now for one salary in most western countries, unless you're a doctor.

So how much is your bf?

Add up the gifts

Why? Young & beautiful. Old & beautiful deserves those gifts just to see the smile on her face. Sorry, I'm an old romantic at heart.

The worst mistake I made was not buying a house while I lived in New Jersey. My parents bought our house in 1965 for $35K USD. My sister in law sold it a few years back for over $400K USD, after my brother passed and she wanted a small house for herself. Impossible to move back there now unless I lived way out in the country, but it's still too cold there so Texas is where we'll go. Housing is cheaper there.

OMG......I assumed everyone would say nil.......and would have answered honestly.

Am I mis-reading this.....is the money like housekeeping money?

I did for 32 years and was never happier. Many Texans come from all other states, and the rednecks were never a problem no matter where I lived, as I hunted and fished with some of them.

Many members might recall that their father or grandfather would hand his pay packet to his wife every payday. She would then give him some pocket money.

Thats the way it was back then.

Nothing to be ashamed of, even though Rocky desperately wants all wives/partners to be labelled as hookers.

Come on man. If no sex who would date a woman?

Good question, most won't admit it. Should really include the value of motorbike, car, house etc

My car 1.5m her motorbike 20k at most. Her house with my modifications.

My school owner friend here, married for 30+ years, says he gives his wife all the money and she gives him some when needed. Told me it's done most of the time here.

I don't "pay" my wife anything. I have an account in my name for extensions of permission to stay, for all other purposes we use a joint account. She's entitled to spend whatever she'd like.

It's an arrangement that's worked well throughout our forty-two year marriage.

The problem I usually have is getting her to spend any money - I usually have to persuade her to buy things as she normally doesn't bother for herself.

Hush-hush? Please! My life and finances are an open book, bragging about my generosity is a pleasure. Every third year, on her birthday or Christmas, I get her a brand, spankin' new broom or mop to make the housework easier. Years ago I gave her my old, worn-out work gloves when I bought myself some new ones. I prefer her hands to be callus-free after she does the yardwork, trimming trees, hauling bricks and gravel, digging ditches, etc.. Now, on Mother's Day, every fifth year, she gets a new spool of thread to keep the holes patched up in them gloves. Sometimes I get her a job cleaning hotel rooms so she can stock up on soap and shampoo.

Now, @scubascuba3, keep my answer someplace safe where you can find it, so when this same lame question arises again in two months, I won't feel obligated to answer.

No it's not, if English is not your first language, please use Google translate.
