Beware - Atm Card Scanners

Featured Replies

The story is coming out of Phuket, but who says it can't be happening in Pattaya? Probably best to take another look at the ATM the next time you use your card:

Wow, those used to be pretty primitive devices, and someone used to have to watch for the pin code. That one looks very good. I ocassionally find ATMs where the card slot is a little sticky going in. But have never been suspicious if everything has gone fine.

Better use the ATM card at the bank or their change offices. ATMs at night are anyhow not a safe spot.

Scam and Crime seems to be on the rise again (low season may be providing not enough money).

Sometime ago my wallet get pick pocketed in South Pattaya. Until I noticed the loss, those bast***s already went shopping with my CC. Luckily my card provides insurance, so there will be no or very small damage to my financials. However, recently I heard - besides these ATM scams - many reports on stolen wallets etc.

Beware when going out at night.

Best is to take nothing with you, just a simple ATM card (not with the debit function).
