Consul-General to Dubai says Dubai understands Thai politics

Consul-General to Dubai, Pasan Teparak (ปสันน์ เทพรักษ์) says Dubai understands Thai politics and the Southern conflict and affirms diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries remain intact.

Army Chief and Chairman of the Council for National Security, Gen.Sonthi Boonyaratglin (สนธิ บุญยรัตกลิน), presides over an opening ceremony of the Annual Conference of Thai Ambassadors and Consuls General today (August, 30th). Apart from the ambassadors and consuls-general, attendants of the conference include Chairman of the Constitution Drafting Assembly Noranit Sethabutr (นรนิติ เศรษฐบุตร), Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office Thirapat Serirangsan (ธีรภัทร์ เสรีรังสรรค์), the secretary-general of the National Security Council, as well as the director of the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Center.

The conference today is scheduled to discuss the country’s politics and national security as well as international communities’ confidence in Thailand.

Mr Pasan adds that Dubai closely monitors the interim government’s solutions to the Southern problem. It also plans to strengthen cooperation with Thailand on import and export of Halal food, vegetables, fruits, and commodities. However, Mr Pasan says Dubai has still banned fresh chicken imported from Thailand due to bird flu.

The consul-general also suggests that Thai businessmen should invest more in Dubai as it is the center of the Middle East markets.
