The bill established the United States-Israel Defense Technology Cooperation Initiative to "expand and accelerate bilateral defense technology research, development, testing, evaluation, integration, and industrial cooperation" between the United States and Israel. The Initiative would be led by an "executive agent" appointed by the US Secretary of War. According to The New Republic, "No other country has this privilege with the U.S. military."

The Initiative also provides for collaboration on emerging technologies, including "artificial intelligence, quantum machine learning and autonomous systems", "directed energy and advanced sensing", "cyber defence, electronic warfare and digital resilience", and "biotechnology, biomanufacturing, and medical defence".

I fail to see how merging the IDF with the American Forces has anything to do with our national defence.

Israel has been a sovereign nation since 1948. Why does the US continue to support them? Does AIPAC really control that many votes?

The war hawks are moving in the shadows because they know they've lost the public. Just this week, Pew found that 62% of Americans now hold an unfavorable view of the Israeli government… and a new AP-NORC poll documents what it calls a dramatic erosion of support for Israel after decades of bipartisan backing, with roughly one-third of Americans (including about half of Democrats) saying Israel has committed genocide in Gaza.

Americans increasingly see Israel not as an ally… but as a government dragging us into war after war.

Take Lebanon. Just three weeks ago, Israeli strikes killed dozens of civilians in southern Lebanon in blatant violation of the ceasefire – and the attacks forced the U.S. and Iran to call off peace talks in Switzerland. Israel torpedoed diplomacy that could have ended the war, and put the entire region at risk of a spiral that could drag American troops into yet another catastrophe.
