I only want to live as long as my boy down there is functioning, and I hope to keep it functioning until I'm 70-80. I plan to reach that old with a six-pack still visible and lots of muscle. I think it will be possible with future technology. Otherwise i think I'll fall into a deep depression and hope for a quick end.

How do you guys deal with that?

Freely translated: "You too will die".

Mother Earth is either heaven or hell, and you are the creator of your own life. You get one chance to do it right, and that chance is right here, right now.

If more people understood that, were more willing to work for a sustainable and good life, and accepted their own personal challenges, maybe more people would be happier with themselves, enjoy life more, and not focus so much on the afterlife, except perhaps on the legacy they leave behind and how they will be remembered.

This is the actual number one premise that Hinduism and Buddhism are both based on, i.e., that life is suffering (dukkha) and so it is undesirable to be reborn and live and suffer again and again. They both claim to provide pathways to escape the endless cycles of rebirth/reincarnation.

I Find this part especially interesting, and I must ask you a question. At what ages did you actually experience happiness?

Throughout my life, I would say I’ve experienced more than 50% happiness. Especially the last 10 years, they’ve been my best decade by far, consistently.

My struggles have mostly been limited to a few periods here and there. Looking back now, those struggles felt very real at the time, but with the experience I have today, they really weren’t. They were chapters in my life, not my life.

Correct, the male is a life support system for sperm.

It really doesn't matter what you want or what you like, if reincarnation exists you are going to continue being reborn, lifetime after lifetime.

Reincarnation does not tell you what you will become, where you will be born, or who your parents will be. If you believe in reincarnation, karma may also be part of it. Do not wish for something when you do not know the full truth behind it.

There is also a theory that you go where you go based on what you believe. As for me, I hope for total silence. I hope the fuse goes black, and I’m gone.

There is an interesting idea in Lucifer Morgenstar. You don’t end up in Hell because God sends you there, but because your own guilt keeps you there. Whether you believe that or not, it makes you think about how much our own minds shape our reality.

I do not think people understand how privileged some of us have been, simply by being born at that time, in that place, and for most members of this forum, in the West. We have been incredibly lucky.

I know some forum members do not agree, and that is fine. I am allowed to have my own opinion based on my life experience. I also believe that this kind of gratitude can improve life, especially now that our hourglass is more than half empty, or beginning to reach its end.

Born into this modern world with less violence and substantially less wars was a blessing. Every decade seems to just get better. What if we are nothing more than numbers, mathematics, or information arranged in a particular way? Consciousness could simply be what matter does when it reaches a certain level of complexity. Death would then be the end of that arrangement. The information disperses, much like a whirlpool disappears when the water stops flowing. Nothing goes anywhere because there was never anything separate from the physical process.

My true and absolute "happyness events" happened all over my lifetime. They came in "bursts".

But I will say this: I wished that the wisdom that I have now, I should have had in my younger years.

I find it remarkable, that in younger years one thinks "I know everything". An error of evolution I think. At old age the aqcuired wistom of a lifetime brings little reward. How much more rewarding would it have been when we had "old age" wisdom when we were young.
