Activists use these tragic situations to grab power and force local leaders into giving in to their demands. By ignoring obvious facts and defending violent criminals, they end up destroying the safety of the very neighborhoods they claim to help. In the end, forcing a political agenda over common sense only alienates normal citizens and destroys public trust.
