Immigration though to me has gotten easier, especially with the DTV and LTR visas if one meets that criteria. I also see more and more foreigners it seems that come here with income blinders on and end up living on the streets or something illegal. Ownership of property is the decision of the country, one can buy condos legally if one has the necessary funds and documentation, so I fail to understand about the illegal nominee buyers - yeah I know the lawyers tell you it is legal then you learn later not so much so. I have noticed with the recent investigations that many of the foreigners arrested as not from my country so these expats have become aware of their limitations on buying property. To me, life just remains great here in what I considered it to be when I decided to retire here it is a paradise. Yeah, times do change just about everywhere but it is still better IMHO here than in my home country and I have no plans whatsoever to leave here. I do wish only the best for all, after all the majority of the locals seem to be much poorer than most that stay here long term so I would think that we should be taking advantage of that fact and enjoy life here. No matter where I go, to the bank, shopping for groceries, immigration, local government offices whenever needed, and just around the mooban, everyone has a smile for me and treats me with respect without even knowing me so how can i argue with that? Like I say, I wish only the best for all here but we as foreigners must remember it is their country.

We are talking about the standard ATM fee for foreign cards at all Thai

banks.

It is now 220 baht regardless of amount which had been raise from 180.

Obviously reject the DCC offer (which is a money rape) and try to withdraw large amounts because the standard 220 fee is the same regardless.

Fee is now 250. I save ~$16 / ฿500+ with my USA card, which reimburses TH ATM fee, and by selecting without BBL conversion. 8 or 9 withdrawals a year, so at least ฿4000+ in my pocket instead of BBL's.
