Civil liberties and human rights were abused by state tools such as SAVAK, repressing free speech by the varied use of kidnap, torture and public executions. All backed by the CIA and Mossad.

There. Sorted your trite, potted history for you.

Just another example of wherever in the world the mighty USA sticks its oar in the water, it's pretty much f____d.

SAVAK was brutal. No one’s defending it.

What replaced it was worse. Crane hangings. Stonings. Morality police murdering women for hair. Mass executions of prisoners. A theocracy that still ranks among the world’s top executioners while exporting terror through Hezbollah, Hamas and the Houthis.

You cry “America sticks its oar in and everything’s <deleted>.” Iran is the proof of the opposite: when the “anti-imperialist” side won, Iranians got a religious police state that makes the Shah look almost mild.

Keep spamming the anti-Trump and anti-Israel slogans if it makes you feel righteous. Go celebrate with your Iran, China, India and Free Palestine terrorist buddies.

The body count under the mullahs doesn’t care about your hashtags.

Worth repeating: Islam is a 7th-century desert death cult that is 1000% incompatible with any Western society that wants to remain free, secular, or even vaguely functional.

US soldiers will die which will end the presidency of whoever decides to invade Iran so no, that isn't going to happen. Nobody, not even the mighty IDF, is willing to be their proxy "boots on the ground" so no, that isn't going to happen either. Ever.

Cute theory.

Under the last guy, Iran was racing toward a nuke, funding every proxy that would light the region on fire, and laughing at “strongly worded statements".

Weak presidents get trapped between “invade and die” or “do nothing.” Strong ones make the other side too afraid to force the choice. Trump didn’t invade Iran. He killed Soleimani, crushing their economy with maximum pressure, and still keeps American troops out of a ground war. That’s the difference.

Defeatism dressed up as realism: “We can’t act because soldiers might die and the president will look bad.” That’s how you get empty threats and endless wars.

Trump’s record is pressure, precision, and results — without the quagmire. Keep coping.

I heard that Türkiye has very recently passed legislation that allows the PKK (the Kurds of northern Iraq) to reintegrate in society.

https://www.france24.com/en/middle-east/20260810-turkey-parliament-passes-limited-amnesty-law-for-kurdish-pkk-militants

Left something out ?

The PKK leadership has said excluding Ocalan from the legislation would be a red line, warning on Sunday that many of the bill's provisions would remain a "dead letter" if he were not freed.

The measures only become active after Turkish security institutions determine that the PKK/KCK has ended its organisational existence and fully surrendered its weapons.

You just described yourself and got offended by the accuracy offering zero rebuttal to a single point.

Just a long weak tantrum about how mean the stereotypes are while proving every one of them 😄 I don't usually use smileys but this is worth it.

That was not a counter but a confession wrapped in a "low-value post".

But you presented absolutely nothing to rebut. You simply regurgitated spam, the low-value, right-wing spam of the shallow minded.

You are consistent though. In a thick and predictably spammy way I mean.

Didn’t congress deny trump the permission to go to war?kinda nipped his Willey so to speak……anyway I’m sure some technicality like the oath of office or the constitution wouldn’t stand in his way.

Nice one. Related to Iran so I'll put it here.

Sana Ebrahimi Ledene :

The son of Masoumeh Ebtekar, the woman nicknamed “Screaming Mary” who climbed the walls of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and helped take American hostages, has been arrested by ICE along with his wife and son. They are being processed for deportation over ties to terrorists that were allegedly not disclosed during their immigration interviews.

His wife, Maryam Taasebi, gave an interview to The Nation that ends with this line:
“There are more things I want to say, but this is the shackled version of what I feel safe saying right now. I will end on this: If this could happen to us, a law-abiding family of two professors and a young boy, it can happen to anyone.”

As an Iranian, my response is simple: No.
It can’t happen to everyone. My family members weren’t terrorists who seized the American Embassy and took hostages. We didn’t help build the theocratic nightmare that has tortured Iranians and killed Americans for more than four decades. Your family did.

Now go back to the hell your mother and her comrades created.

If Iran and Oman work out a deal, Trump will try to take credit for the area returning to the status quo ante.

No doubt Trump will demand a Nobel or FIFA Peace Prize, and whine like a baby when he doesn't get one.

So the war achieved what, exactly, other than death, destruction and wasted money and weaponry?

The US has lost whatever goodwill and positive influence it might have had when Biden handed Trump the keys to the Oval Office. Also, the entire world now can see that even a supposed superpower is impotent when faced with much more economical weapons and an enemy who cares as much for its citizens as Trump cares for his, which is zero. Finally, everybody is going to want a nuke, as North Korea is proof that nukes are the best defense against Trump and US hegemony.

Iran ,which was totally out of the nuke game under Obama's JCPOA, will likely now commit itself to acquiring nukes, perhaps buying them from neighboring Pakistan via its close relationship with the ISI.

'Peace prize', I guess you mean the kiddie version, locked into fire cracker explosions.

Trump Gives 'Last Chance’ to Sign Deal Before ‘Decapitation’

So says the Decapitator and Chief 🐂💩 Artist
Trump-in-hiding.png

"Got Diet Coke?"

Now dealing with reality.
Iran controls the Strait of Hormuz
The US will not sail its ships anywhere near the Straits of Hormuz.
The United States and the POTUS have lost the war he started
Having learned nothing, the POTUS fails to grasp that "decapitated" moderate leaders are replaces with more radical leaders.
Iran has been preparing for exactly THIS war since 1980 and actively began preparations to defend their homeland over 30 years ago.
The best solution now is to claim victory and walk away.

Here is how Trump envisions the Iranian leadership. That level of hubris is the flaw that will destroy the US and world's economies if this isn't ended very soon.

This unprovoked war against Iran should have never started. Now America will need to make serious concessions. Iran holds all of the cards. Get over it.

Trump Accuses Iran of Duplicitous Statements

After his Oval Office remarks, Trump turned to social media, writing that Iranian leadership is being “unbelievably duplicitous” in how it speaks about negotiations with the United States.

In the post, he alleged that Iranian leaders “beg” for meetings, while publicly later stating they will not hold discussions. Trump said that, whether Iran acknowledges it or not, the two sides are talking about a solution to a problem he said Iran created “for decades”.

The comments followed Trump’s earlier claim that another round of negotiations would begin on Monday, despite Iran’s response.

Classic. The pot calls the kettle "black." Trump constantly projects his actions and duplicitiousness onto Iran as Trump begs Iran for a "deal."
Iran has been forthcoming: "Follow the MOU to the letter and the negotiations will follow. And don't make up new clauses for the MOU he signed that aren't there."

Come on. Is the Iran War even a war. Probably not. Trump and Rubio say it's not a war. Hegseth. Well, what good is The Department of War if it's not a "war." Eh?

Now let's play, Is It A War?

Nonsense. Iran has never upheld anything they agreed to except allowing aircraft carrying pallets of cash sent my Hussein Obama.

Outside of their 12 mile territorial waters Iran nor Oman have no jurisdiction over the straits.

There is no point within the narrowest point of the Straits of Hormuz where the sea is not either the territory of Iran or Oman.

Both nations hold territorial rights that extend 12 miles from any land, including islands, that are their territory.

Some idiot forgot this when he decided to start this illegal Israeli/US war of aggression.

Trump's "Control" Over Hormuz — A Timeline

➡️March 9: First mention — declares "the war is very complete, pretty much," claims Iran's military destroyed and the strait already reopened, and says he's considering having the US seize control of the waterway outright. (CBS News)

➡️March 15–16: Asks NATO and China for help reopening the strait; both decline. He shrugs it off — "maybe we shouldn't even be there." (Guardian)

➡️April 12–13: After Islamabad talks collapse, announces a full US naval blockade of Iran's ports — while Iran is simultaneously blockading the strait from its own side. CENTCOM has to publicly clarify the blockade targets Iranian ports, not the strait itself. (Washington Post, Reuters)

➡️April 17–18: Iran briefly reopens the strait for a Lebanon-ceasefire window. The US blockade stays in place regardless — Iran shuts the strait back down and calls it a ceasefire violation. (Reuters, AP)

➡️May 23: CNN's fact-check unit logs 28 false claims from Trump in a single week, including "total control of the Strait of Hormuz" — undercut by Trump himself admitting in the same remarks that Iran was still charging tolls to let ships through. (CNN)

➡️August 11–12 (now): Same script, recycled — "we own it," "100% control," "a wall of steel," even a "praise be to Allah" this time. Ship-tracking data (Reuters/Kpler) shows 8–14 vessels crossing daily, down from ~130/day pre-war, most using the route Iran controls. And now, "capitulate or decapitate!" Blah blab blah.....

The straits fall under a different category under UNCLOS.

Well, most are Westerners who have been told their entire lives that Russian are bad people. Just like Chinese, North Koreans, Iranian, and everyone else their government tells them they must hate. When you're raised to hate those who you are told to hate, and your indoctrinated, you hate. So yeah, your right. When Russia responds they'll be totally surprised and outrages.

Update:

Marco Rubio:

Masoumeh Ebtekar - also known as "Screaming Mary" - was the spokeswoman for the Islamic terrorists who stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran in 1979 and held 52 Americans hostage for 444 days - subjecting them to beatings, starvation, and mock executions. In 2014, the Obama Administration granted visas to her son and his family to enter the United States. In June 2016, the Obama Administration gave them lawful permanent resident status via the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program. This week, I terminated their lawful permanent resident status and today, Seyed Eissa Hashemi, Maryam Tahmasebi, and their son are now in the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement pending their removal from our country. Her family should never have been allowed to benefit from the extraordinary privilege of living in our country. America can never become home for anti-American terrorists or their families - and under the Trump Administration, it never will.

Well done. Good riddance!!!

That decapitation deadline must be imminent - maybe after the Sunday round of golf.

Confucius say: Before embarking on a journey of revenge first dig two graves

Why am I reminded of this old ‘Kids in the Hall’ skit?

Perhaps because we have been living in clown world for decades now?
