Yellow house book and pink id card for expats renting a property

I wish I had used my UK address.

Just a suggestion. Contact WISE and see if you can change address.

Especially as you indicate that you can provide a UK address.

There is a current thread running in this in another forum.

I'm thinking WISE can accommodate change of address to UK

On a rented property, I would not bother. When you move, the yellow book stays with the property. Way to much sodding about to get it in pattaya. But good luck.

While it's true that being in a yellow book for a rented property has limitations, if you happen to find yourself in a district that allows easy yellow book registration, it may still be beneficial.

In my case, I have my yellow book for 14 years, and it has saved me countless trips to immigration, and the associating fees, for a certificate of residence. I also got a postpaid sim from True, which

Thanks but I only verified a couple of weeks ago it would look dodgy. Also I wouldn't be able to easily verify a UK address if asked.I have a Nationwide bank account with a UK address but rarely use and only have online statements.

My last post.

IMO you are jumping at shadows.

WISE, my guess will just accept change of address.

I certainly did not need to supply proof of my Oz address.

I in general use my Sisters address despite having several properties in Oz

No proof of address will be required.

Your solution is to obtain yellow book + pink card?

Geez

I didn't know that.

So if I move I need to apply from the start again ?

I was guessing that the new address would be added to my previous yellow book as there many blank pages.

You can only add names to a house book, not addresses.

The very first page is the address, all other pages are for names.

If you move to an address in the same sub district, The Amphoe will simply change the book without further shenanigans.

If you move to another district or Province, the amphoe that issued the original book will issue a form to take to the new amphoe, who will issue a new book without all the shenanigans.

Yes I've read the same and even in this thread posts have indicated process depends on location.

Not about to sidetrack thread, however out of interest why do you want yellow book and Thai pink card?

Many rubbish threads with back forth about usefulness vs not worth the trouble.

I like many expats live in Thailand for MANY years without one.

38 years here, owned my own house for 10 of those

Never had a yellow book , never saw the need for one

lets see what it would have saved me
opened 2 bank accounts ( way back, did not need a cor)
renewed dl 6 x ( 4 of those required a cor)
bought 3 cars
thats all i would have saved

I think this is a classic YMMV ( your mileage may vary) topic. For most there will likely be no to minimal benefit. But for a small number the benefit is real and not trivial. It all depends on one's individual situation and we are all not the same.

if ur renting property, why would u want one?
I cant see any landlord allowing it

and there is not much sense in having one except for opening bank accounts, getting driving license and not having to get a cor

U move, the book does not go with you

If you work in Thailand and want to stay on the Social Security for life then they require that you have one. Otherwise no SSO.

I needed one to collect SSO benefits after I retired from working in Thailand. I had 6 months to do this and it took all of 4 months to accomplish in Bang Pa-In. But I was under the impression that the book followed me and it would be easy to add a new rental unit into the book.

I read about this transfer when I was getting my Yellow book. But when I asked the Amphur about a form when I moved, they new nothing about it. Do you know the name of the form or have a photocopy? Anyone?

You had a reason to obtain YHB and Pink card.

When I asked OP reason for wanting that he replied...

"I thought it might be a back up to my non- o visa if Wise ask me to verify my residence in Thailand in the upcoming changes."

So the OP reason is concerns regarding his WISE transfers and possible changes to Thai address verification.

He has far simpler options available.

He is picking up an axe to deal with a fly.

When moving a yellow house registration book (Thor. Ror. 13) to a different district (Amphur), you visit your current Amphur first to report the move. They issue a Notification of Removal and detach your record, which you then take to the new Amphur.

It's known in Thai as Bai Rap Chaeng Kan Yai Out / ใบรับแจ้งการย้ายออก) form.

The book belongs to the address registered in it.
You can only add names to the book (persons resident).

The very first page details the address of the property.

The second and all subsequent pages list the people registered at that address.

If you're moving to a new rental property it's very important that the 'householder' of the Blue book will allow you to register at their address beforehand.
They have to complete an authorisation form, and attend with their TB and ID in order for you to obtain a Yellow Tabien Baan.

Usual issue. Thread spins off topic.

The OP eventually posted...

"I thought it might be a back up to my non- o visa if Wise ask me to verify my residence in Thailand in the upcoming changes.Hopefully I won't need it as it seems to be a lottery how you get it and I haven't the confidence to blag like some"

His simple issue is with WISE.

Can easily be sorted. Certainly does not require obtaining TYB aand pink ID card.

Weird thread.

Thank you very much as this is the information I was looking for. My Amphur was quite difficult to get the initial Yellow Book so I was hoping not to have a repeat. Before I sign a lease I will make sure the owner is available and willing to do the transfer. Thanks again for the help.

I recieved my from Pattaya city hall.

Endless red tape, expense and frustration. Little benifit from the book or pink card. Not worth the hassle involved.

On top of that the OP indicated his reason is to facilitate WISE transfers.

I use Oz address with WISE.

Zero issue. In fact just now did a 100k transfer with wise and it was instant.

Wise requires proof of identity (photo ID), and they may also require proof of address depending on your location, account type, and the currency or amount you are sending. Identity verification is standard for all users, while address verification is triggered by specific regulatory requirements or when ordering a debit card or multi-currency account.

Proof of acceptable residency in Thailand.

Residence Permit

We accept the following residence documents:

  • Yellow house book (Tabien Baan)

  • Pink ID card

Good to know about residence permits:

  • The Yellow house book must not be stamped as 'Move out'.

  • Your name and date of birth must be visible and match your passport and Wise profile.

Documents we can't accept for right to live in Thailand

  • APEC Business Card

  • Stamp visas for tourism or short-term purposes

  • Certificate of Residence

Bragging or complaining ?

If you hadn't already told us a 100 times before, we'd never had known 🙄

The financial requirement is only 65K a month using the monthly income method.

Your point.

I reported fact. BTW: 100k baht per month is hardly living hiSo.

I don't provide proof of address in Thailand to WISE.

Concentrate on the OP.

Worth noting that for address verification Wise will accept rather less than a yellow book....

"For a multi-currency account or card, you'll also need to upload a document showing your current residential address in Thailand (e.g. bank statement or utility bill)."

For your right to live in Thailand proof they not only accept a so-called "residence permit" but also a long term visa or work permit.

It's wild that Wise knows which visas constitute a long-term stay better than Thai banks.

Or a Yellow house book and pink ID card, which have far further use going forward.

My banks know exactly what a long term stamp is as they as of late go straight to that page.

You're being deceptive in "quoting" the Wise information this way, because what you quote as "Residence Permit" is actually just one of multiple sub sections of a section named "Accepted documents showing your right to live in Thailand".

The very first sub section is "Visa (sticker, e-visa, or digital)", so you fail to mention (= deception by omission) that you can just use your valid long-term visa and don't need a Yellow Book or Pink ID card. The second sub section is "Work Permit", and for some strange reason you've only quoted the third one.

Not the first time you do something like that.

You won't need to apply separately for the pink ID it comes automatically with the yellow book , nowadays my local amphur ( not banglamung) will not issue them unless one is married to a Thai Most require evidence of parents names I used copies of the documents I had translated from when I got married here even though they were years old they were still accepted Other than translation costs the process should be free although I think they charged me 20bt for a plastic wallet for the card

I have yet to find anybody with any interest in me having the yellow book or the card quite disappointing so far , but I reckon they may well become more significant in the future , should that happen I imagine they will become more difficult to obtain,

Same here. After 22 years in LOS I have never once been asked for either one. Passport or dl.

I merely pointed out that if proof of residence is requested by Wise, then a YTB is acceptable as evidence of residency, which they refer to under the 'residency permit' heading.

Wise always require proof of ID, and can request proof of residency.

Just stop.

Seems OP is concerned with satisfying WISE requirements.

The idea of obtaining a YTB is an option and a ridiculous one at that.

More simple options available.

Do you seriously think obtaining YTB best option for his WISE issues.

Then you add this nonsense.

Moving forward to what.

The guy wants WISE transfers.

The OP has not replied for 3 days.

Useless thread.
