Turkish man injured in Beer Bar scuffle caused by a Rainstorm.

At Pattaya Police Station in the early hours of Tuesday Morning, Police Lieutenant Colonel Wirawoot was assigned to a case of assault which took place at a beer bar in North Pattaya. The incident occurred at the Guitar Beer Bar located near the “Made In Thailand” Market and led to an assault on a Turkish Tourist, Mr. Bekis Zihni Dincel aged 32 who went to the Bar with his Girlfriend, Khun Ganyarat aged 31. In the early hours of Tuesday Morning, a Heavy rainstorm accompanied by high winds hit Pattaya. During this rainstorm, the couple were inside the Bar when a protective cover at the front of the bar collapsed and a bottle of beer belonging to Mr. Dincel fell on the floor and broke. Mr Dincel demanded the Bar replace the beer, a request which was refused by the bar workers. The couple decided to leave and were allegedly bombarded with verbal abuse as they were leaving. The couple returned the gesture and a fight begun between Khun Ganyarat and a female bar employee. Mr. Dincel attempted to stop the fight but was then set upon by a group of Thai Men, one of which claimed he was a Police Officer and placed him in handcuffs. Even though Mr. Dincel was restrained, the men continued their attack on him, He sustained minor facial injuries and was later sent to Hospital where he was released two hours later. Police are now investigating and will attempt to round-up the Thai men accused of assaulting the Turkish Man and are also attempting to locate the so-called Police Officer who placed him in handcuffs.
