You mean like Iran?😂

Iran is resilient, and highly armed. Its military makes Canada's military look like a toy army. It's a totally different ballgame.

Invading Iran was a mistake. However, invading Canada and seizing its 51 trillion USD of assets could be accomplished within 48 hours and would make economic sense.

Trump should seriously consider invading Canada and just seizing all of Canada's assets.

The galactic embarrassment that is Trump is now threatening to rename Lake Ontario Lake America.

Canada should rename its southern neighbor The Fascist States of AmeriKKKa.

But hey, at least America has Kim Jong-un.

Going to grab an M4 and volunteer, Rambo?

In case you missed it, Canada is a NATO ally, so per the NATO charter, the other 31 members of NATO would be obliged to nuke the US. Of course, they could just take out Mar-a-Lago on a weekend, and nobody would take exception to it. No harm done.

America should reinstate the draft, albeit only Trump voters will be drafted.

THAT would end all idiotic Trumpian foreign adventures, as like their messiah, Trumpers are Never Served armchair warhawks.

We've already gone through this, obviously such an invasion would spell the end of NATO and the UK, France, Germany et al would have to make some geo political choices. They always needed the US far more than viceversa, however, all they would do is to put economic sanctions on the US, that's the absolute worst they could do. The notion they would attack the US with nuclear weapons is ludicrous, as they themselves would be incinerated then many times over. Besides we already saw with Russia that all NATO members are loath to go to war with a nuclear power, such as Russia. A nuclear attack on the US would never happen.

Like I said, the worst that could happen is that the US becomes subject to sanctions, some asset freezing, but of course the US would have 51 trillion of assets if it invades Canada.

Worth considering.

Due to the Brexidiocy, it's the UK that will go broke unless France and other EU countries magnanimously let you back in, after an appropriate period of public rogering, obviously.thumbsup

It's emerging from several sources that last minute interference of prominent member of the Stoopid cabinet Howard Lunic (frequent guest on Epstein Island and all around douche bag) killed the deal.

https://archive.ph/ZGi8S

"US-Canada trade talks collapsed after last-minute pressure from Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, according to people familiar with the matter, leaving President Donald Trump to impose new tariffs and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney vowing retaliation.

With the countries spiraling into a full-blown trade war, the spotlight is on Lutnick’s role in the last-minute talks. Lutnick viewed a framework deal as too generous to Canada and emerged as a champion for US metal producers who wanted to claw back concessions, the people said, speaking anonymously to discuss the negotiations."

That is absolutely the case and there's no way that Canada could have said yes to this deal. The US through their arrogance, hubris, and ignorance made it absolutely impossible for this deal to get signed.

In my opinion Canada can live without the US, but the US cannot live without Canada. Sure it will be painful for Canada but they will find alternative markets for their super high quality products. On the other hand America will pay more for virtually every commodity it sources elsewhere. Just another dumb and dumber failed deal by Dumb Don.

I'm quite serious, Canada is sitting on 51 trillion USD of assets but has no military to defend itself.

The US should invade Canada and take those resources.

You keep saying that and I'm starting to think you must be brainwashed enough to actually be serious about that statement. So you think it's worth killing tens of thousands of Canadians to get at their resources?

What are you living in the 17th century?

I would love to see not only Trump supporters being drafted, but I would also love to see all of Trump's spawns being put to the test on the front lines, that seems only fair.

Perhaps we could even send Kushner, Witkoff and Lutnick, maybe they'd get some sense knocked into their ridiculous heads.

They wouldn't even fight. The majority anyway. It would be over so quickly there'd be no point. Only a hardcore military remnant would engage in guerilla nuisance.

Why 17th century? That's what the US did with Iraq fairly recently. And they only had 11 trillion USD in resources! Canada has triple that.

Let's remember, this particular special person thinks America can seize Canada's wealth. To do so would require the enslavement, possibly killing, or every single Canadian, because what are they going to eat, drink, live under when America steals the lot to pay off its debtees, lead by Japan and the United Kingdom. Oh wait, the special person will probably say the US will just default on its debts. Which surely is cheaper than invading a country. Maths I suppose wasn't his skill at retard school. In other words, his ambition is to become a dirty thief.

Of course America can seize Canada's assets. Have you seen the size of Canada's army? The US has bigger gun clubs.

Don't be so overly dramatic, there'd be no need to kill every single Canadian. That's obviously ludicrous. Most Canadians would be assimilated into the Greater American Empire. Only the left wing resistance would have to be dealt with harshly. To demoralize the inevitable guerilla mob that would hide in the mountains.

Even if the US were to seize all Canadian corporate entities, they'd still need workers to keep them afloat. Why would we need to deprive Canadians of their job? No need, there's enough to eat in America.

The invasion of Canada would only take 48 hours. It would be extremely cheap. And rewarded with 51 trillion USD of Canadian assets.

It's worth considering.

A post and the replies with libellous/defamatory content toward Trump have been removed.

Historically this is not without precedent.

This is a goal American leaders have pursued since before the Revolutionary War. In 1774, even before declaring independence, the First Continental Congress approved an open letter to the residents of what would become Canada, urging them to join—or face the consequences: “A moment’s reflection should convince you which will be most for your interest and happiness, to have all the rest of North-America your unalterable friends, or your inveterate enemies.” In 1775, the fledgling American forces attempted an invasion of Canada but were repelled. They would try again in 1812.

That's a high price to pay for a soundbite.

Of course, Ford and Carney won't be paying the price. That'll be ordinary Canadians.

The impact on Canada is not going to be catastrophic. Perhaps 50-80,000 jobs may be impacted.

Unlike the USA which lost jobs in July, Canada added 75,000.

Yes, some Canadian businesses may be negatively impacted, but most of these operations were already marginal or on the edge. It was going to happen eventually if the $CAD strength increased as was expected. There will be some economic pain, but the federal government has put into place financial support that will address it. It's the US which is sowing the seeds of its own financial problems.

There will be a realignment of markets, a change that was long overdue. Hopefully, it reduces the influence of the US mega corportations and investment firms in the Canadian economy. Trump says that he doesn't need Canada. OK. Once the winter starts, and the Iran war fuel shortages start to be felt we'll see about that. Trump is already seeing a critical minerals shortage because of the China dispute. Sure, the tariffs on softwood have increased the cost of Canadian lumber exports. However, it is the US consumer who will be paying since US supply cannot meet the demand. Canadians don't need US agricultural produce. They already import large amounts from the ROW. It's not like US produce is any better than elsewhere.

Don't under estimate the anger in a 40 million+ market that is the USA's largest export market. If you thought the Dylan Mulvaney inspired boycott of Budweiser was something, you aint seen nothing.

It may be the biggest, but it's still just 14% of the US export market. The USA is over 70% of the Canadian export market.

Canada's retaliation tests the limit of American power un...

The president is using US dominance to challenge allies and enemies alike - but both Canada and Iran have found ways to fight back.

"At present, Ottawa seems content to bet on the former outcome, calculating that fear of a midterm blowout in key industrial battlegrounds like Michigan and Ohio will force Trump to back down before ballots are cast.

"I don't think there's the kind of internal political divisions in Canada that maybe the Trump administration would have expected," Bayoumi said. "I think Carney has a lot of political runway to really get a good deal for Canada and not settle for anything less.""

How is it rational to drive Canada right into a major recession? Carney is incompetent, blinded by his ego. He's not acting in the best interest of Canadians. They'll all pay the price for his tough talk and posturing.
