I don't know if this is anecdotal or not but what I've noticed to me is clear and unmistakable. Not talking about a change in behavior with Thai people that I know, but with random new to me Thais generally in business situations. Not all of them but a good percentage and a noticeable increase. Just an update here to my own thread, I've been to the Motor Sale event at Bitec and saw that the new Denza Z9 GT has the lidar casing/hump at the top. But when I asked the employee he told me that the Lidar isn't available at the moment because Lidar in cars is not homologated in Thailand as of yet. Unfortunately he couldn't tell me if that car actually has some inactive Lidar hardware in there (which would come in handy the day it's approved for use) or if it has been removed. At least it's good to finally know the answer to my question.

That's not going to happen. There is too much money in it and too much amazing positive potential if it's well controlled. Also national competition especially the west vs. China. People feel if we don't do it, somebody else will, and that's true under the current lack of controls. All signs point to it not being well controlled and time is running out. The consequences of that may literally be extinction. All the great minds working on that admit that as a real risk.
