Edit to include: But I will concede that this number will also include those who are immune due to having contracted measles. My point is to determine the percentage of people who are neither immune due to exposure or have been vaccinated and may this be more likely to contract measles abroad and bring the disease back to the US.

There is some number that is greater than zero that represents the percentage of the US population, excluding those under 12 months of age, that has neither been vaccinated nor had the measles. I know you don't like AI answers and neither do I, but AI puts this number somewhere between 5 and 7 percent. Neither number would change my conclusion, but again, my other assumptions may also be incorrect.

I am also open to seeing credible sources citing illegal immigrants as being a major cause of imported measles cases. So far, I've only seen political speech stating this.

That fewer people are having their kids vaccinated, is a concern. Pre-covid, I think 94% of one-year olds had been vaccinated for measles.

When hundreds of thousands or millions of people come across the border from a county with about 14 times the rate of infection and a significantly lower rate of vaccination, it is a reasonable assumption.

The idea that it is from Americans travelling overseas is ridiculous, because:

1. Per you, only 7% of Americans in general are at risk

2. People traveling internationally are much more likely to be vaccinated

3. I do not think the number of Americans travelling internationally has not increased enough to cover the increase in measles infections.
