The Bars/Clubs seem to operate by the we don't care until it's time for you to pay the bill if you have the money or not.

The only way a single woman racks up a bill like that is if the bar is predatory. This entire story stinks to high heaven. Sounds like the same karaoke bar scam that happens in Chiang Mai way too often. I've drank in those primarily Thai-only bars before. You buy a bottle and pay for it up front and then there are no misunderstandings.

I read this first in an international press release where I believe they said that she ordered 200 drinks. The only way that happens is if she was coerced into by "rounds for the house." Again - this looks predatory.
