The UK doesn't issue 'tourist' visas.

It issues standard visitor visas which (with mind dumbing stupidity) are one-size (don't) fit all for 6 months validity.

At least Schengen initially approve only for your visit period.

Not only file dmsize...file type is an issue. They don't accept pdfs. And also number of files; they'll accept just 1 file for many categories while asking for information that by its nature won't fit into just 1 image file.

I just finished a (successful) ED visa application for someone. Had to research how to create an image file containing multiple stacked images and then download new software to do it. Huge headache.

If they would accept pdf would have been no problem. Or allow upload of multiple documents. But asking for multiple bits of information all in image files yet allowing only 1 file upload is diabolical. .

Update to this post, the mobile version of the website I tried earlier wouldn't allow .pdf upload but I just tried on my PC and no problem.

I'm absolutely screwed here putting it politely

They have now declined 3 different sets of Passport booth approved photos (which wont even print unless it will meet passport standard) and 1 selfie

I cant do any more that I can see. They're not answering from the email address that they did so from a few weeks ago either

(Edited in....when I say declined its clear its not on repeat because the wording keeps slightly changing as to the "next" photo requirements so its clearly being looked at)

This one just rings out +44 (0) 20 7589 2944. if you ring within there 3 hour window that they allow 2pm to 5pm

Exactly, in my application not allowed PDF, I used JPEG several times staying under the limit size, this was 3-4 years ago though...

I used a selfie taken in my kitchen. No problem.

Yes thats exactly where I did the 1 selfie that was declined (as had white background). Am pretty stuffed here. With no communication I dont know if there is anything else but the photo itself. 99.9% the rest is fine though as just paperwork that is certainly all in order

Doubtless they're are closed today and tomorrow as well. Will try one more selfie after that cancel trip and reconsider Thailand completely. After 172 trips frankly I deserve better but acknowledge somebody in an office will have no interest in that

Its just generated an auto response with different sections including the email address they're not answering

I've just submitted overall 5th attempt (2nd selfie)

Its looks perfect in my opinion but if this one is declined thats it am not bothering again. I'd offer to drive to London and present myself but I know thats pointless anyway unfortunately

I am reading on many FB groups the same issue so clearly not just me

For some uploads, only an image file is allowed, for example the applicant's photo under point 2. For points 3 to 6, a PDF file is allowed. That was the case for my application for a non-O visa (Thai wife) which I submitted earlier this week.

I may very well be wrong; it has been some time since I last applied for a visa, but I do recall some Thai authority that wanted a photo where they wanted one where I had removed my glasses.

Even if the evisa accept photos with glasses on, reflections in the glasses can make them reject the photo.

Note to @Chivas, a passport photo booth picture is NOT a selfie, no matter how many times you send them one.

No dont wear glasses. I'm not expecting any response to photo uploaded this morning as Saturday/Sunday so just going to have to wait to see what happens Monday

I had meticulously planned this 6 month trip thats why I'm somewhat annoyed (especially about not being able to apply 2 months ago for the METV because of financial "rules") but obviously have been somewhat unfortunate that the reduction in VE starts on the day I arrive now

I can see me having to buy another proper "onward" ticket at the 29 day mark if I still come as already have one at the 59 day mark (to satisfy what was VE or possibly now SETV)

Am absolutely certain that every airline out there will be examining onward tickets very carefully if the passenger doesnt already have a return within 30 days in that airlines own reservations

I'm not convinced that the $7 onward "semi fake" tickets will cut it this time

When I was chasing London on the approval on my Non-O application, their email responses were good, ie. question e-mailed in the afternoon, response in my inbox the following morning (overnight).

This was about 2 months ago.

No I just answered that elsewhere by coincidence. Virtually identical I would say 2022 to today

I'm bemused that an official photo booth within Post Office here in uk which is passport authorised and wont even print the photos if you're an inch out position has been declined......if the email being sent each time saying basically "do it again" was word for word I'd think somehow the application was caught in some sort of loop but the words have been different every time

See what Monday brings. Suns shining here so get some rays in !

The upload page I had, did not list pdf and and system did not accept them. Could it vary with Embassy? I would have had no difficulty if it had allowed pdfs.

Didn't allow upload of more than 1 file per section. Despite asking for information that by its nature would be more than 1 image file.

It would be bizarre if it depends on the Embassy but nothing would suprise me! I've only done UK applications, most recently 2 years ago, and tested it again today, as said, PDFs accepted.

Not the case for the application I did. (ED visa for a Cambodian national so Embassy = Phnom Penh). No pdfs acceptd in any section.

I see that limit of visa exempt border entries is again limited to two per year.
