Bold Prediction 2.0 --NO crackdown on visa agents in the next 5 years

Incorrect, depends, i switched to legit, others have also, already established

In my case I switched from agent to monthly 65k method 2 years ago. I presented the bank deposit slips etc and they looked it over very carefully and after some discussion approved my extension. I actually was thinking it could have went either way. All okay now...

You’re the only one losing sleep over it. Those who have the funds have absolutely nothing to worry about.

  • You do realise that the majority of the Agents fee goes directly to immigration coffers, and over a day, week, month, year that is a very substantial amount, so that method will probably never die out

That may be the case when re applying but when finding them amongst the 'legit' 800k ones, how are they recorded differently on the pport. Ans. They are noted the same!

In any case, if they crackdown, those who used agents will instantly be in violation of the visa status. That's a big deal.

That's different than changing using the bank method. That definitely will not work.

More chance of barring gay visitors during Mardi Gras season!...

How visible to IO investigators 'cracking down' are agent assisted extensions? Are they clearly identified from all other types, how are they recorded, the notations in passports are identical.!!

I've used both agents/legit over the years. I checked the approval signature very carefully and its exactly the same signature for both.

Another one of your golden dufus ad hominem posts.

Why the puck would I be losing sleep over this, dude?
I've never used an agent.

It seems you think my topics on these matters have no value.

Fine!

Easy to sort.

Do not read them. Do not post on them.

You're welcome.

That’s not how it works.

You start a thread and expect everyone to agree with you. Anyone can reply. You don’t have to like it but you have to deal with it.

Are you that desperate for attention?

I’ll reply to any thread I see fit in accordance with forum guidelines

Including yours.

Until next time.

Who is "they" will stop it.

I guess many have no clue how much money is being generated by agents for this process. And, you think the money flow stops at some IO at the counter?

I bet the ability to use and agents for retirement extension are here to stay.

As long as you have complied with the financials for 12-13 months prior to extension renewal, no reason to reject it

Straw Man Garbage.

I was responding to a moronic ad hominem attack accusing me of being the only person interested in the agent ban question.

Not about disagreeing with my position.

That was the income method though.

You can't change from agent bank to legit bank without getting a new visa.

Yes you can, see the previous thread about this subject. I switched to 800k

You would have needed to show a legit bank record going back one year.

800K two months before, 800k three months after, 400K rest of year.

Agent clients which weren't just hand holding can't do that.

I tend to agree.

People seem to be equating the visa agents to the nominee crackdown. I mentioned the OECD in another thread and got shut down. But AI here agrees with me that the nominee crackdown has something to do with OECD.

I doubt the visa agents have anything to do with OECD ...

Taxation maybe, though. They may get strict about foreigners filing taxes. I suspect OECD is behind that as well. That would be the next crackdown, I'm guessing.

Of course I can't stop you, but you can't stop me from knowing who is here simply to be a sniper and pest as opposed to people posting on the topic in good faith.

I see you.

I actually don't exactly what you did but what I posted as the general problem is accurate.

With all the weekly negative farang news stories it may come to the point they are just fed up with farang and one way to cleanse is to stop the LOSO agent renewals, it's possible

Why don't you get it? it's simple to follow, anyone else not understand?

You need to be much more specific.

I'm talking about this scenario:

Clients uses agent game bank method.

Client gets extension.

Client wants to drop agents and apply himself next year.

Ciient will not have the required bank record to get a new extension.

Client will need to new visa to start over.

You obviously did something different.

That's all.

I see you.

Based on your previous posts on previous threads I don’t think you can make a determination as to who is sniping and who posts in good faith. My opinion.

Now don’t you agree that a long term tourist or expat arriving and living in Thailand should have the proper funds to meet the Thai financial requirements and not have to rely on an agent “fix” the problem?

You claim you’ve never used an agent. Congratulations.

So why the concern if there’s going to be a crackdown or NOT?

And then start a thread that has no bearing on you, according to your claim.

Unless your claim is false.

Bizarre post.

Thanks for sharing though.

I am not the Thai government dude.

They're going to make policies based on their motivations which in my opinions are not the same thing as expat motivations.

Of course I hope every expat has enough funds and never runs out of funds.

But many of course will have problems.

I have never advocated the agent game bypassing financial requirements.

I just see it as something that is happening which is independent of any opinion I might have of it.

Why did I post about agents when I don't use them and don't support using them?

I guess I'm a person who has interests outside my own persona experience.

Is that OK with you?

If not, kiss my grits.

You're playing mind games.

So you had a separate account.

You dion't use the record from the agent.

That is an oddball case and is NOT the ussue here.

If there a crackdown, those expats hit with it will overwhelmingly NOT have a separate account to use next extension,

Then tell me specifically or forget about it.

Dude, what is your TRIP?

I am not a mind reader.

If you used the agent game where you didn't actually have the financial requirements you could not have applied for a next year BANK METHOD extension without an agent based on a bank record from the agent.

Ahh, much better. You even managed not to call me any insulting names.

I never knew you were such a humanitarian looking out for your fellow expats. Especially after reading many of your vicious posts.

That’s good “merit making “

Nah, tourists are 30% of GDP.

Retirees help the economy as well.

It seems they are more focused on how one feeds the bank account, in order to track illegal work.

If the money in the bank comes from bank transfers from a foreign country ( and enough for living expenses, it should be ok. If transfers are not enough for usual living expenses, or if the money comes from cash deposits, expect trouble.

Retirees are especially useful as they spend all year, not only seasonally.
