I recently tried some of these coffee beans. Pretty good. Pricey, though.

And? Can I not include it in my post?

Sure it does, depending on personal preference, the most expensive will most certainly taste better unlike the caustic urinal wast preference of some and maybe yourself.

Often, but not always, no. Price and taste do not in every case have the proper relationship.

As to specifically what exactly to this broadly casted general assertion?

The “Chiang Mai 80” strain of the arabica/cantimor is by far the most common grown in the north, developed specifically for the region for its disease resistance and stable yields. Regions in Nan are more isolated and offer protection from disease that spread from neighboring crops and where heirloom and other variants such as geisha and typica produce an ideal crop which are far more superior than the common high yield cm80 crops, is why according to personal preference, Nan produces some of the best, if not the best, smoothest coffee in th. And of course there are growers in cm, mhs and cr that do produce geisha and typica, though have yet to find any that measure up to some of the growers in Nan for reasons stated.

Nan has definitely some fine coffees, I have visited plantations there as well as other parts in the country. I still prefer others though and they are not "caustic urinal waste".
