I understand that they stay in the reservation system for 48 hours. I and doubtless others would be happy to know if any one at "check in" has actually put it to the test inotherwards check in staff querying and actually entering airline 6 character references into whatever system they sit in front of

Bear in mind an immigration denial is up to $10,000 maximum fine now for airline

There's no risk in counting on a 30-day extension from immigration. It's basically a foregone conclusion as long as you apply for it and pay for it. The only risk you run is if your airline requires

Absolutely zero issue of obtaining a 30 day extension. Where would you be located in Thailand for your visit. As pointed out above for travel to Thailand visa exempt then the airline may require an

Only once I'm aware of out of hundreds of flights. For a flight purchased directly from an airline. I had to go behind the counter and help them enter the information correctly into the airline's website after they claimed it wasn't valid.

I showed one to immigration on the one and only ever time I've been asked to show an onward/return ticket in April 2025 and showed the screenshot and it was "accepted" without comment

The bigger risk is checking in with ground handling in my opinion and they'll are going to be hot as hell on them from next Monday onwards with the VE change.... Immigration may not be able to immediately spot a semi fake £7 onward ticket (which I've bought 3 times) but sure as hell check in could and I have little doubt they can check its validity immediately should they choose to. I'm with you on this occasion

Not set in stone I acknowledge

Quoting myself

I've bookmarked the thread and will update as to whether I get asked for the onward/return ticket on Monday 14th as I'm on one way ticket

Will have the genuine onward ticket ready but will wait to see if I'm asked for it first

Relating a friends experience who was intending to enter VE on a one way ticket, but with a cheap outbound ticket from DMK to Phnom Penh , was asked how long he intended staying and if he had an outbound ticket, which he then duly presented. The rep then smiled and sarcastically added, 'as your flight lands a SUV, if refused entry, how do you intend to catch that outbound flight from DMK' ?

He was allowed to proceed as having an outbound ticket, even though it would have been impossible for him to use it, but it absolved the airline from any responsibility in the highly unlikely event he was refused entry.
