Britain prepares to call back 95,000 veterans as Russia fears grow

We are seeing the psychosis of fear.

When human beings are in the grip of fear they cannot pause and think things through logically.

If they could they would realise that Putin would be insane to attack the UK, a nuclear power, or even Germany. This whole narrative is a nonsense.

You make a very good point….

But is Putin sane or at least is he rational

,many things he had done so far indicate

he is not rational (Trump is even more irrational as a side note).

Who knows…if in doubt prepare for the worst

and try not to provoke the bear too much ?

You are right of course, that one has to prepare for the worst case scenario.

Crucial however is to calculate that worst case scenario accurately. You question Putin's sanity. May I ask why?

Not sure there will be any veterans left after Labour throw them under the bus with Northern Ireland prosecutions.

Mind you, with the <deleted>hole Burnham is creating with all his lefty buddies, appeasing the Muslims for their votes, Putin will probably take a look at the place and simply decide it’s not worth invading.

Maybe not totally insane, but not rational and

driven by some fantasy to regain the former soviet unions territory, makes him dangerous and unpredictable.

His hybrid war of sabotage and provocation

also makes little sense. Not the actions of a straight thinking leader (neither is Trump).

Well, I think Putin has acted very rational. So does Chicago Professor of International Relations Dr John Mearsheimer. This narrative that Putin wants to reconstitute the USSR is not correct. However, one can indeed debate about how wise a hybrid war is. :

In the end of the day only Putin knows the answer.

Putin is not that stupid to attack the UK and Germany ,as that then involves NATO,

except for USA ,as I think they have decided to be on their own...for now , he cannot

win a war with an inferior power ...Ukraine , so it's all talk and bluster , and I am sure

the Russian people don't want this either..

Since when does the Russian government care what its people want?

Since when does ANY government care what its people want?

How can the government expect anyone to "gather around the flag"...when that same government will send the cops to your home and threaten you with a 2500 quid fine for flying that exact flag.

angry "Rally around the flag boys for God, King, and Nation......but don't fly that flag or else it's a 2500 pound fine for making illegal aliens feel uncomfortable."

This 👆🏾IS the absolute absurdity of it all. And on top of it, if you claim to be a UK patriot, your government will probably insinuate that you are a far-right wing domestic terrorist for making that claim.

Who in their right minds wants to fight and die for a country who literally hates you and its own flag as well?

You are perfectly free to fly the flag where it is allowed - ie. on your own property - and as long as it is done in accordance with safety criteria. You are not allowed to scale lampposts and hang them from public bridges.

So calm yourself down.

Have you put even a day into the military my man? I'm guessing not. If "Putin Invades" by shooting missiles at UK weapons manufacturing - are you going to volunteer to go to the front and die for your country?

No I haven’t, nor have I ever claimed to have done so.

On the other hand I don’t go around claiming to be a patriot on the basis of flag hugging or hurling abuse, and worse, at immigrants.

Foreigners being sent to fight in British wars is nothing new.

It’s tough when patriots are called to defend the flag rather than using it as a symbol of division and exclusion.

I just like the guy. I think he's straight as an arrow.

And I think factually, he did warn the West since the 90s, that if you enlarge NATO that's a red line in the sand. He said it again and again. He was ignored. During the first conflict with Ukraine, over Crimea, the Germans and others stalled Russia with negotiations, they later admitted were just designed to aid Ukraine's war effort. So Putin was misled many times by the West.

I remember after 1990, when he helped the US space station, he was as friendly as can be with the West, and was promised the new security architecture would include Russia. There was talk that visas between Russia and some countries would be abolished.

It was much nicer to see Russia as a friend. What happened was a missed opportunity.

hahaha. I think Russia has a fairly good clue that they are in a war with the West. British factories are fortunate it's only threats they are getting.

Start a Hug' a Pakistani rapist day you mean 🤔

Russia aren't going to attack another Nuclear power - and mutually destroy their own country.

They will infilitrate politicans, buy power, spread social media nonsense, encourage thick young men who are angry to blame refugees for their downfall, try to harm the infrustructure by making it unreliable (see todays airports IT system breaking down), etc etc

Anyway, Flags are intended as symbols of "division" , they represent the individual countries that the world is "divided" into.
