Gotta ask yourself why. Maybe Jews are doing stuff so horrible that vocal anti-semitism is seen to be standing up on the side of what is good and decent.

But then again it's Israel and the Zionists that are rotten. As I said before, it is wrong to conflate them with all Jews. But indeed it is hard to stop people from doing so.

Yes, I saw that, but there are no antisemitic laws in Thailand like there is in the western world, so sucks to be you.

Have never agreed with it myself, not the way it is worded, to one sided, yes I'll agree about denying the Holocaust part, that should never be forgotten, but no way will I allow anybody stopping me calling out Israel for their atrocities and current conduct.

Hypocritical are countries that have laws against denying the Holocaust against Jews at the same time as laws against proclaiming the genocide against Palestinians.

Thankfully, Thailand has neither.

I prefer it Thiailands way, not strict on anti semitism.

That way the anti semites don't have to hide behind the Palestine cause and they can come straight out with it .

They don't have to pretend to care about Palestinians , they can come straight out with it and say they hate Jews .

I prefer it that way

That way we know where people stand on the issue

I like to think I would do no harm to any Human Being, all religion is cobblers as far as I'm concerned, thought up to control the masses, which it has done for hundreds of years, and still does to this day.

Follow the money, whatever flavour you choose, Christian, Catholic, Jew, Islam, it's all about control and power, my gods better than your god, blah blah blah.

The Human race could do so much better than we've done up to date if we had all worked together rather than fighting one another through religion and politics.

There have been protests at other embassies but about foreign policy issues, not tourist and expat behavior.

Looking at the West Bank settlement tenders, then back at Thailand, it is understandable that concerns about possible links between “grey Israelis” and grey Thais, or corrupt Thai officials and networks, may grow—particularly where land, money, citizenship, and opaque business interests intersect. Some Thais believe that, judging by Israel’s conduct in Palestine, the Israeli people and government are untrustworthy, if not perfidious.

Then there is a history of Thai ultranationalism, and even xenophobia, where students are drilled into remembering failed attempts to colonise what was then known as Siam by France and Great Britain, and the costly price Thailand paid for having to cede territory under its control during the Rama V era in the late 19th century. Thais have been taught to be protective of their country and safeguard its sovereignty from potential foreign powers.

The perceived insensitive presence of “grey Israelis” and “grey Chinese” can easily trigger some Thais.... อ่านข่าวต้นฉบับได้ที่

Thailand does not have an issue with Jews, but it does have an issue with Israeli citizens who misbehave and those are two very different things.

So many people are willing to conflate criticism of Israeli policy and criticism of Israelis with anti-semitism and it's just not the same thing. It's an Israeli meme and something that has been created by the Israeli lobbyists.

Wow! Now I get to say it: you seem to be conflating Israelis with Jews. I asked for sources about Israel's "infamous" reputation; you answered with examples of Jews involved in financial crimes, two of whom weren't even Israeli citizens.

Bernie Madoff was born in the U.S. and lived there all his life. He did not have dual citizenship and there's no public record he ever visited Israel. The Supreme Court of Israel denied Meyer Lansky's application for Israeli citizenship because of his criminal background. He was expelled by Israeli authorities as an undesirable person after two years of living in Israel.

Some of the Russian "oligarchs" are Jewish and have obtained Israeli citizenship. It more they were sanctioned by the U.S. or other countries for their connection to Putin than committing crimes. A few were charged by the u.S. for violating these sanctions. They are not a big factor in Israel's reputation.

Why would the actions of U.S. and Russian Jews necessarily drag down Israel's reputation?

I've travelled for decades in many counries for my work and many times encountered jews being rude and demanding and showing total lack of espect for other people in the situation at hand. A very simple example, at a 7/11 store in Chiang Mai situated about 20 metres from a jewish questhouse. 7/11 shop has many customers waiting to pay for their purchases. Jewish man and his loud demanding wife rudely push to the front of the line, push the products on the counter away which are being tallied by the young cashier, and the jewish man demands he be taken care of immediately. Another customer loudly says 'wow, are you jewish?' Response 'Yes and I want service now, hurry up'.

Most of the many waiting customers instantly put their 7/11 shopping baskets on the floor and walk out of the shop.

In Tokyo Japan I was checking into a 6 star hotel (already had a booking), man with a jewish skull cap pushes in front and demands to be given instant service. No respect for the other travelers waiting to check in.

Eventually the on duty hotel manager tells the bell boy to put the jewish man's suitcase out of the hotel. Instant clapping by the other traveler. Jewish man says give me xxxxYen to pay for a taxi to go to another hotel. Duty manager refuses, calls security, Jewish man roughly dumped outside.

It is certianly about what the Israeli government has been doing to their neighboring countries over long periods of time (decades) coupled with the attitude a certain slice of the citizens display when they visit thailand.

The russians got the same reaction when they started coming here in large numbers because of the war in ukraine. They came in increasing numbers, concentrated in a few resort areas, started illegal business' aimed at their own and acted badly.

When your country mindlessly attacks innocents slaughtering them like Israel has the citizens are viewed with a certain level of distrust, and suspicion. Especially if they take an attitude they are above questioning of those actions and everyone else is the problem.

As for saying the Israeli government is conducting themselves like the Nazi did, take off your glasses and honestly look around you at what they have been doing. If you dont see the hypocrisy then that is part of the root of the problem.

In fact 21% of Israelis are Arab citizens, around 2 million people. Palestinians who remained in Israel after the war 1948 received Israeli citizenship.

Some much seems to get lost in the fog of Israeli propaganda, lobbying, and the absolutely desperate willingness to throw that anti-semitic trope into every argument against Israeli extremist policy. So many are willing to talk about how filthy and evil and violent the Palestinians are, and yet so few pro Israel people seem to be willing to discuss the filthy, murderous Ultra Zionists, and the positively evil, land grabbing Settlers.

Boys on the hills. Jewish assasins.

Israel captured the West Bank, along with Gaza and east Jerusalem, in the 1967 Mideast war, territories the Palestinians want for a future state. Since then, the Israeli government has built nearly 150 settlements that are home to well over 500,000 Jewish settlers. Many of the settlements resemble fully developed suburbs, with apartment blocks, shopping malls, parks and industrial zones.

Radical settlers have established hundreds of additional outposts without government authorization, while still enjoying protection from the Israeli military and often other public services.

Netanyahu’s government, the most nationalist and "religious" (JINO?) in Israel’s history, has boasted of establishing over 100 new settlements. On Thursday, as the army deployed in Qusra, members of his Cabinet celebrated the rebuilding of a settlement that had been dismantled in 2005 as part of the Gaza withdrawal.

The Israeli police are overseen by National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, himself a hard-line settler who has been convicted eight times for offenses that include supporting a terrorist organization. He was a defense attorney for Jewish extremists before entering politics.

The Israeli military says the settlers’ actions in Qusra are “illegal, reprehensible and unacceptable,” and that it tries to maintain law and order in the West Bank. It says it dismantled two outposts in the area of Qusra and detained one Israeli.

But rights groups say the military frequently turns a blind eye to settler violence, and that when it intervenes it often focuses on protecting the settlers. Yesh Din, an Israeli rights group, says around 94% of investigations into settler violence since 2005 have ended without an indictment, with just 3% leading to full or partial convictions.

President Donald Trump rescinded the U.S. sanctions at the start of his second term and appointed Huckabee, a staunch supporter of Israeli settlements, as his ambassador.

During his first term, Trump had upended decades of U.S. policy by moving the American Embassy to Jerusalem and supporting Israel’s claims to other territories seized in war.

https://www.seattletimes.com/nation-world/why-israel-has-done-so-little-to-rein-in-spiraling-settler-violence-against-palestinians/

One of the reasons why Israelis are some of the least popular people on the planet right now, Thailand included, is because of the way that Israelis are behaving back home. Between the IDF, the ultra Zionists, the Settlers and the extremist government, they're not doing a very good job of representing the positive face of humanity. Quite the opposite. That is not generating much in the way of goodwill, positive PR, or affection, despite all the very expensive propaganda to the contrary.

Woe is Israel. Woe are the Israeli tourists. It's challenging enough traveling around the world these days as an American, can you imagine how difficult it would be traveling as an Israeli?

What you don't seem to take into account is the Jewish diaspora, which totals nearly 16 million people, more than half of which live outside of Israel.

Many of us within that group outside of Israel are highly critical of Israeli policy. I don't feel any hatred being directed toward me as a Jew, so I think it's an entirely different thing that we're talking about here. Being a Jew living anywhere in the world and being an Israeli sometimes gets conflated but it's certainly not the same thing. Jews around the world are not committing evil on the level that the IDF, the ultra Zionists, the government, and the settlers are.

Certainly there are some racists who will try to lump all Jews together into one group, but it's not a reasonable argument or conclusion.

There is no {antisemitism} laws in Thailand, so Thai's waving Jews out signs is not a problem to the local law enforcement.

The problem you have is education, no different in the Western hemisphere, people will always mix the 2 together, Jews and Israel, that and the fact that Israeli's play up the we are the great and the good and anybody who questions that get the label, I'm sorry that doesn't wash anymore when everybody can see the actions of the Israeli state towards Palestinian Arabs in the Occupied Territories.

Race doesn't exist but racism does.

Confusing perhaps to the terminally literal.

Race is a social construct.

Ethnicity is real.

So if you hate Asians for example you are racist even though Asians are not a race

To expand Thais are an ethnicity. If you hate Thais you are racist.

Jews are an ancient tribal ethnoreligious group.

I say racist Jew hatred instead of antisemitism for reasons I've explained before.

Race is a social construct, meaning it is a concept created by society to categorize people based on perceived physical differences, rather than being rooted in biological or genetic differences. This understanding emphasizes that racial categories do not accurately reflect human genetic diversity.
