You can call it whatever you like, other Nationalities, as I said, do stupid things while in the Kingdom but that does not alter the fact that the Israeli's have come to the notice of Thai's for some reason, now they have to deal with it.

IMO , its Muslims and Anti Semites who are harassing Jews in Thailand .

This is nothing to do with Israelis behaviour , that is just an excuse to harass Jews

Wow! Now I get to say it: you seem to be conflating Israelis with Jews. I asked for sources about Israel's "infamous" reputation; you answered with examples of Jews involved in financial crimes, two of whom weren't even Israeli citizens.

Bernie Madoff was born in the U.S. and lived there all his life. He did not have dual citizenship and there's no public record he ever visited Israel. The Supreme Court of Israel denied Meyer Lansky's application for Israeli citizenship because of his criminal background. He was expelled by Israeli authorities as an undesirable person after two years of living in Israel.

Some of the Russian "oligarchs" are Jewish and have obtained Israeli citizenship. It more they were sanctioned by the U.S. or other countries for their connection to Putin than committing crimes. A few were charged by the u.S. for violating these sanctions. They are not a big factor in Israel's reputation.

Why would the actions of U.S. and Russian Jews necessarily drag down Israel's reputation?

In fact 21% of Israelis are Arab citizens, around 2 million people. Palestinians who remained in Israel after the war 1948 received Israeli citizenship.

Thailand does not have an issue with Jews, but it does have an issue with Israeli citizens who misbehave and those are two very different things.

So many people are willing to conflate criticism of Israeli policy and criticism of Israelis with anti-semitism and it's just not the same thing. It's an Israeli meme and something that has been created by the Israeli lobbyists.

Israeli Jews are Jews.

About 80 percent of Israeli citizens are Jewish people.

About half of the world's tiny Jewish population are Israeli.

Other countries with sizable tiny minority Jewish populations are the USA, France, Canada. UK, and Argentina.

The political ideology of Zionism led to founding of Israel so I think it's OK to call Israel an ethno state.

SO WHAT?

Does every country need to be like Canada.

At least 80 percent.

Otherwise I have no way of knowing.

I remember going to an Israeli restaurant in Pattaya and the owner affectionately refered to a guest as an Arab. But he could have been an Arab Jew.

That is probably one of the most absurd statements I’ve read in a comment in a long time. And you know that perfectly well. You can’t seriously claim that saying the mood among many Thais towards Israelis has become increasingly negative is somehow “misleading” and doesn’t reflect reality.

You can’t seriously pretend that you’re unaware of the various and, in some cases, deeply disturbing incidents involving Israelis in Thailand, including threats and insults directed at Thai people – among them incidents on Koh Samui.

As we all know, Thais are generally a very peace-loving, polite and harmonious people. It takes quite a lot for the mood to change to such an extent that people actually take to the streets, as happened with the demonstration outside the Israeli embassy in Bangkok.

No, the statement that Thais increasingly dislike Israelis is not “misleading” simply because you don’t like it. There are concrete reasons behind this growing resentment. It is a sad reality, whether you like it or not.

And by the way, stop bringing Goebbels and the Nazi era into this discussion. It has absolutely nothing to do with the issue and is a completely irrelevant comparison.

All of these threads follow the same pattern.

Again just enforce the laws regardless of nationality and move on from this madness of Jews out signs and ruining religious observance for Jews in Thailand.

I've avoided mentioning the religion of Israelis, because I feel it muddies the waters, you support Israel no matter what, yes I know you've said you don't support the current government but why must you always bring up religion, namely Jews, is it just to play the antisemitism card every time?

Whatever, the point is Thai's couldn't careless about antisemitism/religion unless it's theirs, Israelis have been doing wrong and it now needs to be dealt with, arguing back and forth on here is pointless as it is the Thai's that are upset, and whatever you or I say means nothing to them.

Religion of Israelis?
Mostly Jewish.

Wide range of levels of observance from none to fanatical.

Ethnicity of Israelis?

Mostly Jewish people.

Ethiopian, Moroccan, and Yemenite Jews bring the flavor!

Also Christian, Muslim, Bahai, and others.

Jewish is a religion and ALSO a people.

Atheist Jews are Jews too.

Anyway stop gaslighting. We all saw the JEWS OUT and other explicit racist Jew hating signs at recent protests.

We saw a mob of riled up Islamists shut down a Jewish religious observance of the High Holy Days (very important to religious Jews). Not an Israeli observance. A Jewish religious observance_

That observance was for all observant Jews in the area, not only Israelis.

So just stop selling your big lie that this is only about Israeli bad behavior.

Again, people of all nationalities misbehave. Not only Israelis.

Could be that Israel wants all Israelis to go back and live in Israel ?

Possibly.

A record-setting wave of emigration from Israel continued in 2025, with nearly 50,000 Israelis leaving the country for more than 12 months for the third year in a row, according to a report published Monday by researchers at Tel Aviv University.

After about 49,000 Israelis left the country for more than a year in both 2023 and 2024, travel data from the Central Bureau of Statistics indicates the trend likely continued in 2025, Itai Ater, one of the report’s lead authors, told The Times of Israel.

The report argues that Israel’s prolonged military conflict and political tensions have contributed to elevated emigration that could threaten the country’s long-term strategic interests.

Opposition politicians said the report was a sign of the failures of the current government.

If Israeli "scare tactics" were the primary driver to populate Israel, the majority of Iranian Jews who fled after 1979 chose to move to the United States (particularly Southern California and New York) rather than Israel.

Iran still maintains the largest remaining Jewish population in the Middle East outside of Israel,

Nah....It is humans tired of seeing others do what they have been doing...You may be half right in pretending this has all to do with Israelis behavior while visiting Thailand

IMO it does not

The elephant in the room (as usual ) when discussing Israel is their actual behavior in this world & the crimes they have been sanctioned for.

That is such a fabulously incorrect conclusion. I've seen so many instances of Israelis misbehaving in Thailand and the reaction of the local Thais has nothing to do with anti-Semitism, as most of them don't even know what being a Jew means.

It's quite juvenile to conflate being anti-Israeli with being anti-Semitic, and it's even more silly to conflate criticism of extremist Israeli government policy with being anti-Semitic.

Did Jews leave Iran because of the oppression in Iran or did they leave because of Zionist scare tactics ?

From what I have read, it is illegal to move from Iran directly to Israel, so one could surmise that they either stayed in wherever they landed, and then had a choice if they wanted to moved to Israel.

We know plenty of Jewish people don't support Zionism across the globe.

I used to travel through Iran in the early 80's and never met any Jewish people, mind you, we had to pick up armed escorts at the Turkish border and they stayed with us right through to the Pakistan border.
