You obviously don't have much of a grasp either, its common to start with a serious offense and then gradually decrease. In this case they may not be 100% confident of the criminal damage to endanger life, hence adding the criminal damage on its own, I know this, as I used to watch 'The Bill' :)

Needs to be charged by the CPS, then have his day in court.

It’s the actions of the assailant that are the issue.
