Hi,

I am off to Thailand on the 21st of September to do a TEFL course and then spend 4 months teachng in Thailand.

I am fully aware that to do this, I will require a non-immigrant B visa from my consulate, and then once in Thailand I will apply for my work permit. In order to do this, I require certain documents, including my Police Clearance form from my local police station.

This is where my predicament starts:

Unfortunately, just under five years ago (when i started university and didn't have a care in the world) I was arrested for personal possession of a small quantity of cannabis. Before any of you have a go at me, I know it was a foolish thing to do, and only have myself to blame, however, I have grown up considerably in those five years and never look back.

Obviously all this information is on my police form, and would like to ask if any one knows whether I will be able to get a teaching job with this tainting my record.

Any feedback on this would be hugely appreciated!!

Regards,

Frantic.
