Are These Medicinal Herbs Available Here?

Featured Replies

A friend is quite ill and has apparently found these herbs to help quite a lot.

Does anybody know if they are available in Thailand?

Curcumin = Turmeric, you can buy capsules very cheaply here, or just buy the powder.

Curcumine is actually the main active component of radix curcuma/tumeric. It is sold as a standardized extract here in the states.

May be used cautiously with excess bleeding disorders.

Using the powdered form is fine and readily available especially at Indian grocery stores.

Astragalus /Huang Qi is easy to find in china town. Don't get the pill form. Use the whole herb

The best quality should be a nice yellow color with a dark brown to black edge.

I think there are better things than P'au D'arco for the time and the effort it may take to find it in BKK.

Number one find a good herbalist to work with in LOS rather than self medicating... :o

Thank you, I had forgotten about this topic. I have sent the link to my dear friend.

Both turmeric powder and fresh tumeric root are sold by old ladies on the street in the Vistory Monument area and elsewhere. (It is a traditional Thai beauty treatment for the skin). It is also very easy to grow tumeric root yourself.
