NewGuy Posted September 19, 2007 Posted September 19, 2007 My friend, Paul, developed a terrific coffee shop cum restaurant on Soi Buakaow almost two years ago. It's either Cafe Pitini or Caffe Pitini. You can't miss it, north of Soi Diana Inn, about two hundred yards on the left, the only nice looking resto on the soi (excluding the odd British pub), a double-wide place with balcony, just past Soi Pi Pi. Actually, it's a real success story. He spared nothing kitting it out and "getting it right". Anyway, Paul, an American guy, does a variety of great breakfasts (the gammon ham one is my favourite), with all the standards including omelets and the obligatory "full English brekkie" (since coming to Pattaya he's learned about brown sauce). Coffee (more about that later) is included. You can also get excellent salads and light fare and there's a super variety of dinners, all popular, plus an off-menu special every day. The Thai food is the real thing but it can be toned down on request. Prices are bang on and provide excellent value for the money, hence the return custom. Some of the cafe's (caffe's?) other features are delicious pastries, Italian ice shakes and ultra rich ice cream in sugar and waffle cones as well as genuine banana splits. All the popular teas are available as well as every Brits' fav, a good cuppa. For the techo frenzied there's free wifi. For me the coffee does it ... I always have two Americanos (being allergic to milk and sugar) but his cappuccinos and decorated lattes look really good. The espresso and ice cream machines cost more than most places' key money. I'm obviously a fan. If you know me or have seen what I've written you know I'm passionate on food. So, check it out and let me know what YOU think!
