hi, i want to get a tv package in thailand that has HBO and star movies as a minimum.

the one from true will cost 20k baht including install which is crazy to me.

i just want at least those channels can anyone recommend anything that has a price that is more sensible.

Why 20k baht ??

A True/UBC system can be installed for a lot less..

thats what it says on their website, one years sub comes to 19k or so for the year then installation and the total is about 20k for the year.

Thats for the gold package. if you know a way i can get it cheaper that would be great.

Suggest buying 29 baht VCD's.. Or getting crappy cable..

Its possible to steal it, but you will need broadband for code share and the equipment will cost more than 20k for a good dreambox setup anyway.

u missed their promotion. i got mine installed free (gold package) 2 weeks ago.

anyway if you can download tvants.com (TVANTS) and watch many channels there. It's free. Just need a good internet connection. im with TOT cybergold and it works fine for me during non-peak hours.

If you want premium channels then usually they have to be paid for.

However, there are dodgy suppliers who can set you up for a one off fee.

Just ask at the more dubious outlets.

How reliable the service will be and how long you will continue to recieve the 'service' is open to question.

It is also illegal.

I think i just wont bother with it, the reason im complaining is because its as expensive as cable tv in the uk and the channel selection on UBC is fairly awful in comparison. ill just watch what i have and download films instead i think. thanks for the replies though, was worth a shot.
