Hi, I'm a 52 year old UK citizen.

My Non Imm B visa has a stamp saying utilize by 26 Oct 07.

My last 90 day stamp runs to 29 Oct 07.

Am I correct in thinking I can do my next visa run on the 29th Oct and get another 90 days?

Also I'm debating what to do next time.

I have a long term GF but we are not married.

She has 2 kids.

Can I get an extension on the grounds of support or is there tons of paperwork?

I also have a Thai Ltd Co.

Can I utilize this & get another B visa?

What do you think is my best bet??

Thanks Guys, Pete......

The utilize date is one year from issue I think. You can go to the border or return to Thailand on 29th October and get another 90 days but I would go a day or so before, You do not want some immigration guy saying it expires today or something like that.

You can get a retirement visa at your age with 800k in a bank for 3 months before applying (not always needed by all accounts) or 65k per month. You could marry her and get a visa based on 40k income or 400k in the bank.

For your business to generate a business visa you would have to go the WP route I believe with the associated paperwork and costs.

You could return to the Uk and get a non imm O or B visa for another 15 months.

You could check whether Oz or somewhere nearer will supply a non imm O multi entry (cheaper to fly to Oz, sometimes) but the UK is a near guaranteed bet.

Etihad has flights for Bt22k return so about 30k all in which is a ###### good deal. You could do the total trip for about 50k or so.

You could go to Penang and get a single entry tourist visa good for 60 days extendable for 30 days for Bt1900 which would give you 90 days, then some border runs then back to Penang etc.

Penang costs about 8k all in but if you plan it right (watch their and Thai holidays) you can shave some off that with cheap Air Asia fares. They had Bt88 the other week.

You could go to other countries for the same tourist visa.

Personally ? I'd get a one year multi visa before the election and give yourself some breathing space for things to settle down afterwards. The last thing you want is to be running around over Xmas and New Year trying to get a visa and paying OTT airfares.

In Pattaya at least, they are playing real silly bu99ers with WPs at the moment even for guys on them for years.

Surfline, Torenova’s advice is good except for one thing: you seem to have a multiple-entry non-B visa that must be utilized before 26 October 2007. Therefore, you must do your last entry into Thailand with that visa not later than 25 October.

For an annual extension for the reason of retirement, you must have 800k Baht in a Thai bank account for at least three months before the date of application. If you decide to go that route, get working on that bank account. With your last entry on the non-B you get permission to stay until 23 January and you will probably be able to get your extension for retirement without having to leave the country. Make your application at the immigration office 3-4 weeks prior to expiration of your permission to stay, ie about 25 December. This means, put the money in your account now, unless you can meet the requirement of monthly income of 65k Baht from pension or other income.

However, if you have a work permit with your company, do not extend for retirement because you cannot continue your work permit when on a retirement extension.

1. There is no support provision (I assume the children are not yours from the post).

2. You are not married so family extension is not an option - if you do marry family income of 40k per month must be proven over at least a 3 month period.

3. You must leave and return prior to the 26th to obtain a new 90 day entry.

4. You are 52 so could extend your stay on basis of retirement with 800k in bank account 3 months (from outside Thailand) or 65k income or combination of the two.

5. You might be able to obtain company non immigrant B visa entry but multi entry type is not normally available in the local area without a work permit.

So It looks like go to the UK or Oz for a non imm O or B. Is it possible for a 'Pom' to get these types of visas from Oz? Is it tried & tested? If so where is the best Embassy in Oz? I know Hull is the easiest route in the UK.

Or retirement visa which means acting now & not having to leave Thailand (hopefully).

I dont have a WP so that route would be complicated & expensive I think.

Decisions, decisions! Why don't they make it easier for us "old farts'. Lets hope the next government will swing in our favour.

Many thanks, Pete.....
