Sharing Internet On 2 Computers

Featured Replies

Hey, how can I share my highspeed internet on my laptop from my pc? I'd like to be able to open a webpage on the laptop while playing an online game on the pc. It used to work fine last year but now I can't seem to get the internet sharing to work.

Buy a 'router'. D-Link makes good ones. The wireless variety allows you to share a wireless connection for your laptop, and adds 4 wired ports to attach any desktop to it. Access and use is simultaneous.

Two things you can do, one is to just use the monitor from your pc and have a dual monitor setup running from your laptop. Or you can set up internet connection sharing, and I suggest using something like CCProxy to make it easy.

Depend on your hardware: Modem, Router pp.

I would buy an small Ethernet Switch 5 port (THB ~500) and connect both Computer and the Modem/Router to the switch.

Don't need to setup Internetsharing! And you've a small Home Network as well and can exchange data and others between the computer!

You can but you need setup Internet Sharing on the Computer with the Modem/Router. Not as easy as just use an Switch! And if your Desktop is the "Server" the Desktop need to run if you just want to go with the Laptop to the Internet, so, mainly at all time both computer need to run if you want to work with the Laptop!

Reimar,

Have similar setup with multiport high speed switch set up and it works great for Internet on multiple computers. Intrigued by your comment about using the switch as a means to communicate between the computers. How do you do that?

Hello DamianMavis,

I have two laptops sharing a single high speed connection.

I am using an adhoc connection.

I found some instructions from the link below.

Just use sharing between the network attached computers!
