Ip Address

Featured Replies

Hi

Is it possible to find out a computers IP address without having

an internet connection.

I'm trying to validate my ID with hotmail as my account has been compromised

and this is one of the questions they are asking.

I've tried looking on my PC for it but have had no luck.

My adsl is down at home so I can't check the web for it

Thanks for your help

You need an internet connection to have an IP address.

If you aren't behind a router you can get it by going to Run and typing Command, then at the prompt type /ipconfig

If you are behind a router this will only give you an internal IP address (begins with 192), not the one that others on the internet see. For that you need to look in your router, or go to a site like http://www.bobborst.com/tools/whatsmyip/

'/ipconfig' is not recognized as an inernal or external command, operable program or batch file.
